Located in the region of Auvergne, 3 hours drive from Lyons (257km) the Chateau d’Ygrande sits on a hilltop, surrounded by its own 40 hectare park.

In this natural paradise, there is an abundance of activities to suit all ages, from mountain biking, horse riding and hiking, to bathing in thermal waters, or white water rafting.

A visit to the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park is 'must' during your stay - the home of Volvic water, this region provides stunning scenery.

Souvigny Abbey and the ancient town of Moulins are also close by and well worth a visit.

Your Hotel —

Built in 1836, this historic Château is now home to 19 charming guest rooms, a fantastic restaurant and many leisure facilities including spa facilities and an equestrian centre.

The décor is in keeping with the style of the grand historic château, whilst still being homely and welcoming.

The château is surrounded by huge fruit, vegetable and flower gardens, immense pastures, a wood and a lake, providing absolute tranquillity and escapism.

Rooms boast charming decorations and individual furniture, giving a unique character to each room. Rooms either face north, with a view of the riding area, or south, with a view of the surrounding countryside. The natural quietness and stunning environment will provide you with rest and relaxation during your stay.

Your Board Basis —

This offer is based on a Bed and Breakfast stay. Just for you: A complimentary 'panier du chef' (half bottle of wine, homemade jam, homemade brioche). You may choose to upgrade to half board at the next stage of booking.

At the hotel restaurant, the chef offers an inventive style of cuisine which mixes local produce with Mediterranean flavours.

Vegetables of the day from their own garden, Charolais meats and exquisitely fresh fish. There is also an extensive wine list to complement all the delicious flavours.

Cooking lessons are on offer if you want to learn to recreate the dishes at home.

Your Time —

There are many leisure activities on offer from a hammam, massages and beauty treatments, mountain biking and a heated pool set in the middle of the orchard. The swimming pool is open from May to September, depending on weather conditions. The equestrian centre offers riding walks, riding lessons for adults and children.

Your Journey —

Flights: The flights included are with either a scheduled or no-frills airline and are subject to live availability and prices can change. You can choose your preferred departure times during the booking process. Please select your flight options carefully as departure and arrival airports may differ.

Transfers: Are not included. (Lyon airport = 3 hours)

Car Hire: May be added at the next stage of booking process.

Car Hire —

Please note you cannot be guaranteed a specific make of car within a certain group.

The minimum age for driving a hire car in France is 21 and drivers must have held a full driving licence for a least 1 year. You must present a full valid driving licence on collection of the vehicle and in some cases a credit card deposit.

Meet & Greet —

If you are driving to the airport in the UK, and book our package including flights, you may wish to add our 'Meet and Greet' service. Take the hassle out of airport parking and have an official representative take your car on arrival, and it will be waiting for you on your return.

This can be added at the next stage of booking process where available.

Your Contract —

If you book a package which includes flights, your contract will be with Voyage Privé. The air holiday package(s) shown are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 10170.

If you book a package which does not include flights, then ATOL protection does not apply. Your contract will be with the provider of the accommodation and not Voyage Privé. Voyage Privé acts only as agent for the accommodation provider.

Travel Documents —

Flight Inclusive Offers - You will receive an email confirming your booking within the next 48 hours.
Please check all details on this confirmation are correct.  If there are any discrepancies, please notify us as soon as possible.

The airline is ticketless and therefore, you will not receive any hard copy documents.  You will however, receive an email from us detailing your flight information and reference number to enable you to manage your booking online via the airline website.

You will also receive an accommodation voucher for presentation at the hotel reception at point of check-in.

If you have booked transfers, 'Meet & Greet', car hire or airport lounges, you will receive a separate voucher for each of these services.  Please note that transfer vouchers are sent directly from the transfer supplier.

Please do make sure that you either add Voyage Privé to your ‘Safe Senders’ list or check your ‘Junk mail’ regularly for your travel documents.

We will send all documents out as early as possible (subject to full payment being received) but you should receive all your documentation at least 10 days prior to departure.
