Your Destination —
The mountainous Savoie extends from just south of Lake Geneva to Western Europe's highest peak, Mont Blanc (4810m).
Savoie is home to chic thermal spa towns like Aix-les-Bains and Évian-les-Bains. But today, winter sports are the region's main attraction, with resorts that are among the largest and snowiest in Europe.
Les Trois Vallées, Chamonix and Val d’Isère have upscale dining, while Les Portes du Soleil and St-Gervais are loved for their excellent snow coverage. The regional parks in Chartreuse, Vanoise and Bauges attract hikers and tourists alike in summer, eager to explore this pretty region.
