Your itinerary in detail —
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ROUEN
Start your journey in Rouen, Normandy’s cultural and historic capital, where cobbled lanes, half-timbered houses, and centuries-old landmarks set the scene. With an engaging audio guide, wander at your own pace through the old town - past the soaring Gothic cathedral painted by Monet, under the intricate Gros Horloge, and into the stories of Jeanne d’Arc at the square that bears her name.
Grab lunch wherever the mood strikes—Rouen’s vibrant streets are dotted with local cafés perfect for a casual bite.
From here, it’s a scenic drive to Étretat (around 1.5 hours), a coastal gem known for its dramatic white cliffs and sweeping sea views. These natural arches and spires once inspired the brushstrokes of Impressionist painters—and it’s easy to see why. Breathe in the salty air, stretch your legs along the cliffs, and take in one of Normandy’s most iconic landscapes.
Spend the night in Le Havre, a UNESCO-listed city where post-war modernism meets seaside charm.

DAY 2: LE HAVRE - CAEN
Cross the Seine via the Pont de Normandie, a stunning feat of engineering stretching over 2 km - its soaring design is as elegant as the views it offers over the estuary.
Next up is Honfleur, one of France’s most picturesque port towns. With its narrow cobbled alleys, colourful harbourfront, and half-timbered houses, it’s no wonder artists have flocked here for centuries. Explore at your leisure—galleries, churches, and old market squares offer plenty to discover. Lunch is on your own, so take your pick from waterfront bistros or tucked-away crêperies.
In the afternoon, head to Pont-l’Évêque for a deep dive into Normandy’s beloved Calvados. An immersive tour wraps up with a tasting of the region’s iconic apple brandy - bold, warming, and full of character.
Your final stop is Caen, a city steeped in history and looking forward to its millennium celebrations in 2025. Settle in for the night and enjoy dinner at your own pace - whether it’s local fare or something more contemporary, the choice is yours.

DAY 3: CAEN
Start your day in Caen with an audio-guided stroll through its historic heart - exploring the Château de Caen, the twin abbeys, and the bustling Port de Plaisance. Grab lunch wherever the mood takes you.
Then it’s off to Arromanches (30 min), where the D-Day Museum brings the story of the Allied landings to life with powerful exhibits and views of the remnants of the Mulberry harbour still scattered along the shore.
A short drive away, the Longues-sur-Mer battery offers one of the most striking sites on the Atlantic Wall - four massive German gun emplacements, still intact, overlooking the sea.
Return to Caen for a relaxed evening - dinner is up to you.

DAY 4: DEPARTURE FROM CAEN
Begin the day in Bayeux, home to the legendary tapestry that chronicles William the Conqueror’s epic journey to England—an intricate 11th-century masterpiece and UNESCO World Heritage treasure. A one-hour visit is all you need to step into medieval storytelling at its finest.
Break for lunch in the charming fishing port of Port-en-Bessin, where seaside cafés serve up the catch of the day with views to match.
Before leaving, head to the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer - one of Normandy’s most moving sites. Set above Omaha Beach, the sweeping rows of 9,387 white crosses stretch toward the sea, a powerful tribute to those who gave their lives for freedom. Take time to reflect among the pines and silence - this place speaks for itself.
