The Promenade des Anglais began as a walking route in the 18th century after English aristocrats arrived in Nice to make the most of the health benefits that came with breathing in the fresh sea air. Today, the Promenade is Nice's top attraction, and is the best place in the city to people-watch and socialise. From the bustling restaurants to the sandy beaches, why not head down to the 'Prom' to enjoy a chilled afternoon overlooking the spectacular Mediterranean Sea.
