Les Deux Alpes —
Named after the two original Alpine pastures in this valley, Les Deux Alpes attracts skiers thanks to its guaranteed snow cover and mix of challenging and expert pistes that extend up to 3,568m. Quirks of the resort include the fact that beginner slopes are often situated higher up the mountain, while expert slopes can often be at far lower altitudes, giving Les Deux Alpes the moniker ‘the upside-down resort’!
Offering 92 pistes spread across 225km, there is plenty for seasoned skiers to enjoy in Les Deux Alpes - and with 43 lifts, getting around the resort couldn’t be easier. In fact, the resort boasts the largest skiable glacier in Europe, Glacier du Mont de Lans, meaning you can even embark on a ski trip here during the summer months.
For travellers less inclined to skiing, there are plenty of activities available, including exploring the dramatic ice caves 20m below the snow level, and ice skating in the outdoor rink in the shadow of the mountains.
Those looking for vibrant apres-ski have come to the right place, as Les Deux Alpes is considered one of the most exciting resorts for fun off the ice and snow! There are 30 bars in the main resort town to choose from, while Le Pano Bar on the slopes is the perfect place for a mid-afternoon dance.
