Collioure is nicknamed the “City of Painters”, having been painted by Picasso, Matisse, Duffy and more, and it's not hard to see why they drew such inspiration - soaring Pyrenees mountain tumble down to crystal clear seas, where colourful houses cling to the shore and a tangled maze of cobbled streets invite you to get lost for the afternoon.
SEE: You can visit the Catalan region, on both French and Spanish sides of the border (just a few miles from Collioure), with its beautiful vineyards and its thriving art and craft scene.
TASTE: Try the sweet wine of Banyuls or Rivesaltes, along with anchovies and handmade almond biscuits, both local delicacies.
DO: Close to the hotel you can find all manner of outdoor activities including diving, sailing and windsurfing, as well as hiking, biking and climbing. Saint-Cyprien golf course is 10 km away.
