Need a breath of fresh air? The resort of Alpe d'Huez is located at 1860m on the Grandes Rousses massif. With 250km of pistes for all levels, the longest black ski run in Europe (16km) and one of the biggest snowparks in the Alps, it's a must for snow sports fans. It also boasts long periods of sunshine, with an average of 300 days of sunshine a year.
Developed since 1036, today Alpe d'Huez covers 1/5th of France, stretching from Italy to the Massif Central.
