Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival in Lapland
Upon arrival in Rovaniemi, you will be transferred to your family run winter resort in Salla (approx. transfer time: 2hrs). Here you can enjoy the extraordinary raw beauty of the Lapp wilderness that lies north of the Arctic Circle. Invigorating outdoor activities, good food and long relaxing saunas.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the reindeer park for your memorable reindeer sleigh ride through the forest, this traditional way of travelling through snowy forests is a unique & magical experience. Along the way, you will stop at Kota, a Lappish Hut, where you can warm up with a steaming cup of coffee & a grilled Lappish Sausage.
Afterwards, you will be returned to your hotel for dinner at the restaurant.
After breakfast, a guide will teach you how to steer the huskies before you are taken on a thrilling ride through the snow. Midway, you will stop for a rest, to warm up next to a roaring fire in the middle of the forest and chat with the head musher about these amazing northern animals once you return to the ranch. For desert, you will be treated to local home-made pastries before continuing on your way. Upon returning to your cottage you will have plenty of time to ski before dinner.
Today will be devoted to trekking into your surroundings via snowmobile. Your scenic trail will take you up a snowy hill, from here you will be able to enjoy an incredible view over the whole of Lapland. A break with hot beverages will keep your motor running then return to the cottage & relax in the hotel or take to the slopes with a toboggan.
In the evening you will be taken on a snowmobile adventure in search of the spectacular Aurora Borealis.
On your way to the airport there is enough time to visit Santa Claus Village where you find a village dedicated to the nature, culture and the spirit of Christmas, why not go shopping in the colourful village & send postcards from Santa Claus’ main post office?
Afterwards you will continue onto the airport for your flight home.
Your Hotel —
This offer is based on a one bedroom Cottage on a half board basis (buffet breakfast & dinner in the hotel's restaurant - excludes drinks)
The chalets are decorated in typical cosy style with warm wood and tactile soft furnishings creating a lovely homely feel. They all have a small kitchen and a terrace.
Please note: the bed for the 3rd/4th guest may be a camp style bed or sofa bed.
