Day 1: Arrive in Rovaniemi

Touchdown in Rovaniemi, the heart of Finnish Lapland. Arrive at the airport and enjoy an included private transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Snowmobile Safari

Head out on a fun safari where you’ll learn how to snowmobile along frozen rivers and through forests covered with snow. Enjoy beautiful views of the river valley from the hilltops, and pause for a toasty hot beverage. 

 

Take the rest of the day to explore as you please, relax, enjoy the city, and opt for some of the amazing optional winter activities that Rovaniemi offers.

Day 3: Reindeer Safari

Visit a reindeer farm and dash through the snow on a memorable sleigh ride through icy forests, and on evening rides look out for the Northern Lights! Enjoy a hot cup of coffee with a bun around a campfire and learn about the life of reindeer herders.

Your Optional Excursions

Arrive at a husky ranch, where friendly dogs will bark an enthusiastic welcome! Before departure, you will be given instructions on how to control the sleds. After the safari, enjoy some hot berry juice by an open fire and chat with the head musher about these amazing northern animals!

Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes including transfers. Husky drive approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes. 
9.15am - 11.45am or 1.15pm - 3.45pm every day except Tuesday and Sunday.

This magical safari combines nature, culture and the spirit of Christmas! The day starts with a snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm for a reindeer ride and special Lapp ceremony of crossing the Arctic Circle! In the afternoon, head to Santa Claus Village and meet Santa Claus himself, before a delicious lunch in a cosy restaurant.

Rovaniemi

Rovaniemi is the capital city of Lapland in northern Finland, and is known as the 'official hometown of Santa Claus'. Home to Santa Claus Village, a year-round Christmas-themed attraction, this is heaven on earth for festive fanatics. Breathe in the purest air in Europe and dive into a country where 70% of the territory is covered with forest areas - this is a true escape from the everyday.

 

Thanks to the city’s proximity to the Arctic Circle (just 6km away), the city is the perfect place for a magical wintry escape. Catch the incredible spectacle of the Northern Lights, and explore the Arctic Circle Hiking Area, a diverse trail network where you can admire rapids and aapa mires, a complex landscape of wetlands.

 

Besides the Christmas festivities, Rovaniemi is also a great springboard from which to explore the Ranua Wildlife Park and the Arkitikum Science Museum. While you might have a spectacular winter break in mind, the summer is the time to experience the unique spectacle of the Midnight Sun - between the 6th June-7th July, the sun never falls below the horizon, meaning even more time for activities like horse riding, hiking, and jet skiing!
