Days 1 & 2
DAY 1 : ARRIVAL
Touch down at Rovaniemi airport, ready for your icy adventure. An agency representative will be waiting for you on arrival, and will help you pick up your cold weather gear and drop you off at your first cosy hotel. You will stay in one of two comfortable hotels in the town centre, perfectly positioned for exploring.
DAY 2 : SNOWMOBILE SAFARI
Tuck into a hearty buffet breakfast before your first exciting excursion. After a quick briefing on snowmobile etiquette, head out on a magical journey through the glittering forests and lakes of the Arctic Circle. Return to the base for some well-deserved cookies and a hot drink. Return to the hotel.
Days 3, 4 & 5
DAY 3 : FREE DAY & NORTHERN LIGHTS HUNT
Enjoy a tasty buffet breakfast before passing the day in charming Rovaniemi as you please. Pop by Santa Claus Village, do a spot of shopping, or cozy down in a warm bar and sample some local delicacies.
In the evening enjoy your second excursion of the trip: the Northern Lights Hunt. Your expert guide will take you to a beautiful natural lake away from the light pollution of the city, perfect for spotting the spectacular aurora borealis. Gaze up at millions of stars twinkling in the winter sky from this unspoiled location. Tuck into a traditional Lappish barbecue with hot blueberry tea, and listen to your guide speak about the Northern Lights and the legends that surround them. Return to the hotel.
DAY 4 : SNOWSHOEING & ICE FISHING
Start the day with a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel, ready for a fun hike through the Arctic forest to reach your fishing destination. If the snow is deep enough, it's time for some snowshoes! Break through the thick ice of the frozen lake, and wait for some fish while you look around and enjoy the scenery. Gather around a toasty campfire in the snow for pork sausages and Lappish salmon, or even grill your own fish, if you're lucky enough to catch one!
Continue on to the second accommodation of your stay, around 25 minutes from the city centre. This unforgettable stay in a Glass Igloo is perfect for watching the Northern Lights, and you'll also have one hour of access to a steamy sauna and Jacuzzi!
DAY 5 : DEPARTURE
Tuck in to a yummy continental breakfast before packing up your things and heading back to the airport after a magical stay in Lapland.

Rovaniemi
Rovaniemi is the capital city of Lapland in northern Finland, and is known as the 'official hometown of Santa Claus'. Home to Santa Claus Village, a year-round Christmas-themed attraction, this is heaven on earth for festive fanatics. Breathe in the purest air in Europe and dive into a country where 70% of the territory is covered with forest areas - this is a true escape from the everyday.
Thanks to the city’s proximity to the Arctic Circle (just 6km away), the city is the perfect place for a magical wintry escape. Catch the incredible spectacle of the Northern Lights, and explore the Arctic Circle Hiking Area, a diverse trail network where you can admire rapids and aapa mires, a complex landscape of wetlands.
Besides the Christmas festivities, Rovaniemi is also a great springboard from which to explore the Ranua Wildlife Park and the Arkitikum Science Museum. While you might have a spectacular winter break in mind, the summer is the time to experience the unique spectacle of the Midnight Sun - between the 6th June-7th July, the sun never falls below the horizon, meaning even more time for activities like horse riding, hiking, and jet skiing!
