Day Three: Aurora hunting in the Wilderness included (duration 3 hours) —
Experience an unforgettable evening chasing the mysterious Northern Lights. Head north to either Jerisjärvi or Ounasjoki, depending on where the lights might flame up and dance that night. Enjoy the comfort of a warm and cosy bus, and pause to take photos of the spectacular scenes. Try a reindeer ride, make snow angels, and gaze up at a glimmering sky. Husky Safari (2 hours)
Drive a team of huskies over the white, shimmering fells is a magical Lapland experience. The friendly dogs run at full speed as the sled glides effortlessly over the snowdrifts. The husky safari starts in front of an Aurora hut and takes you on a fast-paced 10km trip over the untouched snow of the forests of Levi. Mush!
Snowshoeing in the Forest (2 hours)
Snowshoeing is the closest way to experience the nature of Lapland. The deep snow crunching under the shoes, the snow-laden trees, and the pearly-white willow grouse watching you from afar. Hike through the forest in snowshoes to a nearby fell, and enjoy the spectacular scenery as you build a warming fire. Your helpful guide will teach you about the nature and animals of Lapland, and you may even spot a Siberian jay, a willow grouse, or a herd of reindeer wandering by. This trip is especially suitable for nature-lovers, who wish to take great photographs and enjoy the natural scenery in an ecological way.
Aurora Hunting by Snowmobile (3 hours)
Take a snowmobile through the nocturnal snow-covered forest. Warm up by the fire under the starry sky and enjoy an evening meal and hot drinks. Compose your photos to include the Northern Lights, the snow-covered conifers, and the fells, or just let the unforgettable sights enchant you. The snowmobiles are new, extremely easy to use, and safe. If you wish, you can also hop into the sleigh towed by the guide and focus on enjoying the experience with all of your senses.
Snowmobile Excursion (2 hours)
Leave your cares behind as you sit at the handlebars of a snowmobile. Explore the breathtakingly beautiful landscape of the forest, the powdery snowdrifts, and the trees bowing down under the weight of the snow, lining the route that carries you away from the buzz of village life. Along the way, stop to take photographs of the beautiful scenery and to enjoy a hot drink. Spot curious Siberian jays that, according to old folk tales, are departed woodsmen…
