Sitting on top of Lapland's southernmost fell is the village of Iso-Syote cloaked throughout winter in deep white snow and with breathtaking views of glistening pine covered valleys by day and, if the Gods are with you, the Northern Lights by night.
Your Hotel —
At its heart, the Iso-Syote Hotel with its panoramic restaurant serving up Sami cuisine, swimming pool, saunas and bar with gregarious Finns, offers an Aga like comfort at the end of a day's safari-ing whether by husky, snowmobile or reindeer.
During a stay here you can turn your hand to any number of snow adventures: snowmobiling through fells, across frozen tundra and lakes; day long husky mushing in the surrounding National Park, hunting for the elusive Aurora; ice fishing; kick sledding & caravanning by reindeer.
And of course you may want to ski! Running down from the top of the fjell by the side of the hotel are no less than 12 illuminated ski slopes; both half and quarter pipes; snowboard park; children's slopes and sledding hill: facilities in other words for just about every level of experience. So you could stay here just for the skiing or extend your stay to add some on.

Bed linen and towels, as well as entrance to the hotel restaurant, sauna and swimming pool is included.
Beautiful fell sceneries open up from the cottages, only a few dozen metres both from the slopes and ski tracks. The new family sledding hill is also located in the vicinity of the cottages. The slopes and the hotel services are located only 200-300 metres from the cottages, and outdoor skiing trails begin right from the front door.

Panorama Restaurant - At Panorama you can savour exquisite food and glorious views, making this a wonderfully unique environment. Start your day with a rich breakfast, getting you ready to go outdoors on safaris or skiing. For lunch there is, on certain days, a fresh buffet of salads and warm meals and deserts. You may also enjoy an a la carte snacklist to choose from. The diner buffet in the evening offer a range of starters, main courses, and not forgetting desserts, before ending with coffee or tea.

Our members have a range of optional excursions to choose from, which can be added for an extra fee at the next stage of the booking process.

Duration: 3-4 Hours
Travel by snowmobile to a nearby husky farm and mush a team of huskies. Travelling in pairs, you take turns to drive the snowmobile and mush your eager dogs. The safari takes you through snowy forests and ice-covered swamps and enables you to appreciate the wonderful landscape and light that bathes the Syöte area.
Iso-Syote Northern Lights Snowmobile Safari
When: Tuesdays & Wednesdays
Duration: 3 Hours
Drive your snowmobiles out into the frozen landscape in search of the Northern Lights. Stop by a campfire for drinks, to gaze up at the star-studded night sky, and perhaps see a colourful display of the Aurora Borealis.
Snowmobile & Ice Fishing Combination
When: Wednesdays
Duration: 3 Hours
In this classic combination you will drive your snowmobile (2 per machine) through the snow-covered forest. When reaching the frozen lake, drill a hole, lower your line, and wait. A catch isn’t guaranteed, but spectacular views and landscapes are.
When: Wednesdays
Duration: 4-5 Hours
Transfer to a local husky farm where the good-natured hounds eagerly await your instruction. Travelling in pairs you will take turns to mush and be a passenger whilst enjoying the journey through the snowy forests and ice covered lakes. A sandwich lunch is provided by the campfire.
Snowmobile & Reindeer Farm
When: Thursdays
Duration: 3 Hours
A 35km snowmobile safari through the forest to a reindeer farm. Here you will have a tour of the farm and an introduction in reindeer herding before heading off on your reindeer sleigh ride. Hot drinks and ‘Pulla’ included.
Snow shoe Hike
When: Thursdays
Duration: 2 Hours
After personal instructions on how to use your snow shoes, set off through the deep snow covering the hilltop of Iso-Syöte. Along the hike enjoy the beautiful snow sculptures made by nature and discover marks and tracks of the arctic animals. Hot drinks and cookies are provided.
