Split
This charming Dalmatian seaside city is brimming with history and attractions, alongside a wonderful, laid-back Mediterranean atmosphere, making it the perfect place for a sun-drenched holiday. Take a wander through the cobbled streets of Split's old town, feasting on the freshest seafood and browsing the upmarket shops and cafes along the seafront promenade - there’s so much to explore here.
No stay in Split would be complete with exploring the fantastical Diocletian’s Palace, a 4th century palace which dominates the city’s old town. Wander through these Roman ruins, some of the most impressive in the world, and feel yourself transported back hundreds of years. Afterwards, immerse yourself in Croatia’s cuisine at the daily Pazar Market, where you can barter for some local cheese or a bottle of Travarica, a herb brandy from Dalmatia.
Aside from the charms of the city itself, Split is rightly known as the starting point for trips to nearby islands, including Hvar and Vis; what could be better than spending the day aboard a boat, sailing on the beautiful Mediterranean?
Hvar
Welcome to Hvar, a Croatian island that can celebrate its illustrative history while looking firmly into the future.
This island is part of the central Dalmatian archipelago situated in a picturesque natural setting. Just 10km from Hvar town, you will find one of the most beautiful townlets on the island, founded in the 15th century. Owing to several old bridges that connect the two sides of its bay, Vrboska is often referred to as Little Venice.
With the imposing architectural site of the fort-church of “St. Mary of Mercy", and the cultural Fisherman's Museum, the peaceful town of Vrboska is more than just a beachside destination. Visit Hvar Town, the centre of the island and a close drive from your hotel. Wander through 13th-century walls and pass Gothic palaces interspersed with popular clubs and more modern architecture. The beautiful waves of the Adriatic sea hit the shore, and golden beaches border this enchanting land.
Hvar attracts and accommodates for all types, which is part of its appeal. Part playground for the rich and famous, part haven for nature lovers, part culture vulture's dream destination, there is something for everyone on this beautiful island. In the summer, lavender fields are coming into bloom - don't miss the colour of their flowers and the olive trees.
Dubrovnik
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dubrovnik Old Town is surrounded by city walls built between the 13th and 16th centuries. Stroll round these fortified walls, enjoy panoramic views of the city and the Adriatic Sea then step back in time when you take a guided tour of the narrow stone streets of the Old Town itself.
The city is a treasure trove of cultural and historical attractions, and the stunning beaches, cuisine, and offshore islands are all outstanding too, making this a fantastic all-round destination.
Explore modern parts of Dubrovnik, such as Lapad Bay with interesting cafes, restaurants, and shops along the promenade. Take one of the many excursions on offer including horseback riding at Konavle Valley, Peljesac food and wine tastings, Elafiti islands fish picnics, or daily visits to Montenegro, Mostar or Medugorje. Round off your stay by boarding the Dubrovnik Cable Car which will whisk you to the top of Mount Srd in less than five minutes. From the mountaintop you will be treated to unsurpassed views of the entire city.
