Day 1: Bogotá
Arrival in Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport, 2,640 metres above sea level.
Transfer to your hotel in La Candelaria. End of the day free to enjoy the Colombian capital at your leisure. Explore the mix of modern neighbourhoods, the historic centre, urban architecture and green parks.
Overnight at the Casa Deco Hotel in La Candelaria district in a Junior Suite.

DAY 2: BOGOTA

Visit to Bogotá's historical and cultural centre:
The Gold Museum: one of the most dazzling on the continent. Nearly 34,000 pieces of gold are on display, making it the most important collection of pre-Hispanic goldwork in the world, honouring the Quimbaya, Taironas, Muiscas and Tolimas civilizations.
La Candelaria district, the historical and cultural centre of Bogotá, which has preserved an authentic atmosphere. Along the cobbled streets, discover colourful facades, beautiful carved wooden balconies and baroque churches.
The Plaza Bolivar with its imposing buildings: town hall, Palace of Justice, cathedral, National Congress.
Note 1: the visit of La Candelaria is on foot (3 to 4 hours walk in town).

DAY 3: BOGOTA - PEREIRA - SALENTO
Transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight.
Note: approximately 30 minutes drive. Domestic flight to Pereira.
Arrival in the 'coffee triangle' (composed of three departments: Quindío, Risaralda and Caldas). It is here, in the Andean highlands of western Colombia, that grows almost 10% of the world coffee supply at altitudes ranging from 800 to 1,800 meters.
Free afternoon in Salento, a traditional Antioquian village (the oldest in Quindío), known for some oft the best examples of Bahareque architecture in the coffee region. You'll see example of the architecture and traditional bamboo constructions (guadua) inspired by pre-Columbian traditions. From the Mirador, enjoy a panoramic view of the Cocora Valley with the impressive peaks of the Western Cordillera in the background.

Day 4: Salento - Cocora Valley - Salento
Day for exploring villages and landscapes in the coffee region. On the itinerary: a tour in a Willys vehicle in the heart of the verdant valley of Cocora before hiking among the wax palms, the national tree of Colombia. With a bit of luck, you'll see hummingbirds during the ride!
Note: the hike takes about 2 hours. If you wish, you can choose the shorter version (15-minute walk).
Lunch break in a traditional hacienda. Visit a Colombian coffee plantation, the production of which can be as complex and sophisticated as that of wine. Walk among the coffee plants, and learn about the harvesting and roasting processes, before tasting the
drink produced on site. The day ends with a visit to the village of Salento.

DAY 5: SALENTO - COCORA VALLEY - SALENTO

Free afternoon in the coffee region. Enjoy the sweetness of this beautiful region by touring the alleys of Salento, discovering local specialities, or even embarking on a short hike in the nearby mountains.

DAY 6: SALENTO - PEREIRA - CARTAGENA
Transfer to Pereira airport for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Cartagena de Indias, on the Caribbean coast. Transfer to your hotel in the historical centre. Participate in an hour-long private Salsa lesson!

Day 7: Cartagena - Rosario Islands
Transfer between your hotel and the port of Cartagena. Transfer by shared boat from Cartagena to your hotel in the Rosario Islands.
Note: departure around 8:30 am.
Settle in to your hotel on one of the twenty islands and islets of the national park. Relax and swim at leisure!
Note: upon arrival at the port of Cartagena, you will have to pay the port tax (22 000 COP to date).

DAY 8: ROSARIO ISLANDS

DAY 10: ROSARIO ISLAND - CARTAGENA
At the end of the morning, return to Cartagena de Indias by boat. Transfer by shared boat from your hotel to the port of Cartagena.

In the afternoon, a stone's throw from the walls and the chic of the colonial centre, leave for an adventure through the streets of the bohemian district of Getsemani to discover the food cooked in the
'local' way, beloved by the city's inhabitants.
Whether you're looking for a snack or something more substantial, the streets of Cartagena offer everything! Sampling the food is one of the best ways to get an insight into life daily life and the culture of the locals here. On the itinerary: tasting of tropical fruits, arepas, buñelos, chicharrones, lemonada and other cocadas.

DAY 11: CARTAGENA
Half-day dedicated to the visit of the historic centre and the main sites of Cartagena. Many suggest that the best way to discover the past and the present of Cartagena is on foot, by visiting the most beautiful monuments in the city, such as the Clock Tower or Don Pedro de Heredia. You'll notice different influences - Romanesque, Moorish, colonial, military, Arab, Spanish and North American - that shaped Cartagena.
Discover the Palace of the Inquisition, one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, or the San Pedro Claver sanctuary, formerly dedicated to Spanish priests and missionaries.
Transfer to Cartagena de Indias airport for your international flight.

Day 2: Bogata Excursion:
Half-day dedicated to a foodie visit of Bogota. Start at the Paloquemao market, where you'll taste exotic flavours and shop for the Bogotanos' favourite dish. Continue towards the Chapinero district with the Misia restaurant where you taste starters from several regions of the country.
Continue towards Abasto Restaurant, in the Quinta Camacho neighbourhood with its 19th century architecture. In this fusion restaurant, try a main course with products from all over Colombia.
Afterwards, have dessert at the restaurant La Herencia with a wide variety of national pastries.

Day 5: Santa Rita Cascade Hike
Departure by jeep to Boquia, where you start the hike. You'll be struck by the exuberant landscape of the Quindio Canyon and Cerro Morrogacho which reveals the entrance of the Colombian Andean forest.
Finally, come to the beautiful waterfall known as Santa Rita. This place was once inhabited by the spectacled bear.
