Day 1: Arrive in Bogota
Touchdown in Bogota, ready for a lush adventure to the best of Colombia. Enjoy the ease of assistance at the airport and a transfer to your hotel. Dinner at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Casa Deco 3*.
DAY 2: BOGOTA
Enjoy a whole day with an informative English-speaking guide. Take a cable car up to Cerro Monserrate, situated at an altitude of 3150m, and discover the basilica Santa María de la Cruz de Monserrate, built in 1650, and its panoramic views over the valley and the city. Visit the historic district of Candelaria and Bolivar Square where the National Capitol, the Palace of Justice, the Bogotá City Hall, the Primada Cathedral, and the Sagrario Chapel are located. Admire the neo-classical façade of the Colon theatre, the splendid church of Santa Clara, and the Archbishop's Palace.
After lunch, stop by the gold museum and marvel at the largest collection of gold coins from the Amerindian era. End the day with a visit to the Botero Foundation, home to 85 paintings by the greatest impressionist masters. Breakfast included. Overnight at Hotel Casa Deco 3*.
DAY 3: BOGOTA - PEREIRA
Take a private transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight to Pereira, where you will check in to your next hotel. Relax in the pleasant climate of Salento, an eco-tourism hub home to traditional paisa architecture and sublime painted wooden facades. Take the afternoon to explore as you please. DAY 4: SALENTO - COCORA VALLEY - FILANDIA - SALENTO
Take a chunky Willys jeep to the entrance of the Cocora Valley, ready for an easy hike of about 3 hours. Walk through a landscape of verdant green hills and wax palms, which are the national emblem of Colombia and can reach up to 60m high! In the afternoon, see coffee production at a finca, as a local guide explains the art of making the best coffee in the world and you sample the coffee produced on site. Breakfast included. Day 5: Salento - Pereira - Cartagena
Take a private transfer to Pereira Airport to catch a flight to Cartagena, where you can settle in to your next hotel. Cartagena de Indias, the colonial jewel of the Colombian Caribbean coast, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 and it's easy to see why. The buildings recall the splendour of the colonial era, with their superb carved wooden balconies, and grand doors that open onto sumptuous patios. Breakfast included. DAY 6 & 7: CARTAGENA
Take the next couple of days to explore as you please, or choose an optional tour of Cartagena (not included). Breakfast included. Overnight at Hotel Casa India Catalina 3*.
DAY 8: CARTAGENA - BOGOTA
Take a private transfer back to Cartagena airport for your flight to Bogota, and connecting flight back home. Aviana Flight 9757 Cartagena 17:16 > Bogota 18:44. Breakfast included.
Beach Extension to Baru
DAY 8: CARTAGENA - BARU PENINSULA
Leave your hotel in Cartagena and head to the Cartagena pier at 8.15am, ready for an 8.30am departure to the Barú peninsula. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a long, lazy afternoon relaxing on the beach. Please note: the motorboats are a shared service, with a maximum of 27 passengers. Breakfast included. Overnight at Aura by Sport Baru 3*.
DAY 9: BARU PENINSULA
Enjoy a free day to pass the time as you please, whether it's kayaking, snorkelling, playing ping-pong or simply stretching out on the beach. Breakfast included. Overnight at Aura by Sport Baru 3*.
DAY 10: DEPARTURE
Transfer from Baru back to Cartagena port by shared motorboat (3:30pm), and then take a private transfer to the airport for your flight back to Bogota, and then your international journey home. Avianca flight 9757 Cartagena 17:16 > Bogota 18:44. Breakfast included.

Guided Tour of Cartagena
Visit Cartagena, one of the most beautiful cities in Latin America. The tour begins with a transfer from the city centre to the convent of La Popa, for beautiful views over the whole city. Continue to the largest fortress built by the Spanish in South America, the Fort of San Felipe de Barajas. Enjoy free time for lunch before returning to the city centre to see the Torre del Reloj, the official entrance to the walled city. Admire the statue of Don Pedro de Heredia, the conquistador and founder of Cartagena (1533). Learn the history of Cartagena and its roots embedded in legend and piracy.
