In Tianjin, take in the mix of colonial and Chinese architecture and tea houses with daily Chinese cabaret. Don’t miss the Nanshi Food Mall, with over 100 stalls selling delicacies from all over China. Transfer to the Port to embark.

Maizuru Park contains ruins of the 17th-century Fukuoka Castle and has stunning displays of wisteria and cherry blossom in spring.

See ancient Chinese imperial artefacts and artworks at Taipei’s impressive National Palace Museum or indulge in the exotic flavours of the lively street food scene. Enjoy hiking and biking in the Yangmingshan National Park or marvel at the city’s richly decorated temples, such as the Confucius Temple.

Be blown away by the exhilaration of Hong Kong and its fascinating mix of East and West. Shop for silk, jade, souvenirs, fashions and high-end goods in the markets and malls or take the funicular to the Peak for some spectacular views. Ride the historic Star Ferry from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon or experience a thrilling cable car ride to the impressive Big Buddha and the tranquil Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island.

Hang out at beautiful China Beach, where American soldiers used to go for rest and recreation during the Vietnam War. Discover the delicious street food in downtown Da Nang or the wonders of Hu?, on the Perfume River, the former seat of the Nguyen Dynasty. Its 19th-century Citadel protected the Imperial City, with its opulent palaces and shrines, including the Forbidden Purple City, once the home of emperors.

See the mix of French colonial, Asian and modern architecture in the former Saigon and visit The History Museum for 2000 years of Vietnamese history.
