DAY 6: XI'AN - CHENGDU

Day 1: Visit the Temple of Heaven with an English-speaking guide
The Temple of Heaven is one of Beijing's most visited monuments. This magnificent building, with its triple roof of blue glazed tiles, is the symbol of the relationship between the world of humans and that of the divine.
In addition to the Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvests, visit the Circular Mound Altar and the Echo Wall. In the temple grounds, the locals enjoy a variety of leisure activities (singing, dancing, chess, calligraphy on clay, etc.) every day, and don't miss the love corner, where elderly parents exchange information about their single children's search for love.
Day 2: Day trip to Beijing
A trip to China is not complete without a visit to the capital. Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel at around 8:30 am. You'll then visit Tian An Men Square and the Forbidden City, a fine example of Ming dynasty architectural classicism.
Visit Coal Park for a panoramic view of the entire royal palace and go on a rickshaw ride (approx. 10-15 min.) through the old hutong districts, then stroll through the hutongs with your guide.
Day 5: Tang song and dance show with ravioli banquet dinner
Enjoy your evening in traditional style, with Tang-style singing and dancing. The art of dance in China reached its apogee during the dynasty bearing the same name. Dance performances in the country first appeared over 4,000 years ago.
Day 11: Day in Shanghai
Round off your trip with a visit to the megalopolis of Shanghai. Take a stroll through the People's Park, where you'll meet locals engaged in recreational activities and sports.
You'll then visit the Mandarin Yu Garden, a treasure trove of artistic refinement, followed by a stroll through the old town. In the afternoon, stroll along the famous BUND, then take the ferry to the Pudong waterfront, climb to the 88th-floor Jinmao Tower for a panoramic view of Shanghai, and visit a silk workshop.
Next, a stroll through the former French Concession. This district is still lively and popular, a combination of modernity and history, where you'll find chic boutiques and restaurants.
