DAY 3: LOS ANGELES → LAUGHLIN (280 MILES)
Leave Los Angeles behind and head east across the desert landscapes of Southern California, where long, open roads set the tone for the adventure ahead.
Located at the southern tip of Nevada, along the banks of the Colorado River, Laughlin lies at the crossroads of Nevada, California and Arizona. Today, it is known for its casinos and water-based activities, yet its origins are far more modest.
Once little more than a motel and a bar serving gold and silver prospectors, Laughlin still embodies the pioneering spirit of the American West, a fitting stop as your road trip truly begins.
- Overnight in Laughlin
DAY 4: LAUGHLIN → GRAND CANYON (210 MILES)
In the morning, depart towards the Grand Canyon National Park, one of the most spectacular geological wonders on Earth and undoubtedly a highlight of your journey.
Walk along the South Rim and take in breathtaking views over one of the world’s most impressive natural landscapes. Sculpted over millions of years by wind and water, the canyon reveals an endless succession of shapes, colours and shadows. Far below, the Colorado River flows more than a mile beneath the rim, emphasising the sheer scale and depth of this natural masterpiece.
- Overnight near the Grand Canyon
DAY 5: GRAND CANYON → MONUMENT VALLEY (175 MILES)
Follow the scenic Desert View Drive, stopping at the iconic Desert View Watchtower. Inspired by ancient Pueblo watchtowers, this striking structure features murals by Hopi artist Frank Kabotie. Climb to the top for sweeping views across the canyon and surrounding desert.
Continue towards Monument Valley, a land of deep red mesas and towering sandstone formations, immortalised by countless Western films. Stretching across a vast desert plain, the valley is dotted with monumental rock structures rising dramatically above the landscape, creating one of the most iconic scenes of the American West.

DAY 6: MONUMENT VALLEY → PAGE (125 MILES)
Today, travel on to Page, your gateway to the striking landscapes of Lake Powell and the surrounding canyons.

Continue to Bryce Canyon, one of Utah’s most fascinating natural parks. First discovered by Mormon settlers in the 19th century, the park is renowned for its spectacular amphitheatres of pink and orange hoodoos. Their colours and shapes shift continuously with the changing light, from sunrise to sunset, creating an ever-evolving natural spectacle.
