For a taste of the island’s industrial past, head to Pedra de Lume on the northwest coast, where you can see the salt flats where the country used to make its most-popular export.

 

For a relaxing day in the sunshine, book a catamaran trip out to see some of Cape Verde’s wildlife, including dolphins and whales. Or, just spend your time lazing on the beach and taking dips in the beautiful blue waters of the Atlantic - the island of Sal is sure to have your heart!
