Free Excursion: Walk to the Fatima Chapel
Set off from the Marin Club Hotel and follow a rugged coastal path to the Chapel of Fátima on the island of Boavista. Led by a local guide, take the fishermen’s trail, pausing to watch them at work against the vast Atlantic backdrop. Along the way, stark desert landscapes contrast with the deep blue of the ocean, where ships glide across the horizon. This leisurely two-hour walk is a seamless blend of nature, culture, and quiet contemplation, culminating in the chapel—a peaceful sanctuary with panoramic views across the island.

Spanning ten stunning volcanic islands, Cape Verde is a well-kept secret amongst those looking for some peace and serenity. Boa Vista is this country’s third-largest island, known for its desert interior and picture-perfect white sand beaches. For a true taste of untouched island life, this is the perfect choice!
It’s worth taking a trip to Boa Vista’s sun-drenched interior to admire its unique scenery, made up of barren plains and sandy dunes. Or, stick to lazing on one of the gorgeous beaches - Ervatão Beach is the perfect place to see loggerhead turtles, while Praia de Atalanta offers the unique sight of the shipwreck of the cargoship Cabo Santa Maria, which ran aground in 1968. For a more thrilling stay, try windsurfing on the beaches, or dive into the ocean to see some marine life!
