Your Itinerary in Detail —
Day 1-2
Day 1: Arrive in Montreal and transfer to your downtown hotel on your own. Montreal, the metropolis, offers a thousand and one attractions of the great cities of the world. Multicultural, it blends its French accent with that of its diverse cultural communities and charms with its American-European vibe. The city centre at the foot of the mountains teems with life, while the city's history is rooted in the old neighbourhoods along the river.
Day 2: Today is a walking tour of Old Montreal with a private guide who invites you to discover the winding streets of the former French colony. In the historical quarter and in the old port you can feel the history of this great metropolis.
The rest of the day can be used as free time. Don't miss the Olympic Park, which hosted the 1976 Olympic Games and is home to the world's tallest leaning tower. Here you will also find the Biodome, a magical place where four ecosystems live together.
Day 3-5
Day 3: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then take a 50-minute drive to the Laurentians region, where the Lake Morency is located. The Laurentides region, north of Montreal, is a haven for travellers looking for space and the fresh air of mountains and lakes.
Day 4 - 5: During your stay, you can go on a 2-hour dog sledge ride. This traditional form of transportation used by the native peoples of the far north unites you with nature and creates an unparalleled bond between you and the animal. Once your team ventures onto the pristine trails, only the dogs' panting will break the silence. Quebec is the perfect place to enjoy this extraordinary experience: there are lots of open spaces and the dogs are in their natural habitat.
Another unique experience is ice fishing. The guide will be happy to meet you, explain and demonstrate how to drill a hole and analyse the thickness of the ice. Then he will tell you about the different fishing techniques and how to operate the equipment. Everyone has their own hole in the ice. You can warm up by a fire or in a tent set up nearby. Hot chocolate will be offered and served during the activity.
Day 6-10
Day 6: A transfer will take you to the Montréal train station, where you will take the train to Quebec City (approx. 3.5 hours). You can then take a shuttle to the Ice Hotel (about 30 minutes). Upon arrival, you will receive a welcome cocktail and instructions for your overnight stay at the hotel and a thermal sleeping bag. In addition, you have access to the Nordic area with spa and sauna under the stars. You can stay in your backup room at the Valcartier Hotel.
Day 7: Optionally and at an additional cost you can visit the Valcartier Winter Park. The largest winter park in the world is located on the same site as the Ice Hotel. Look forward to several snow slides, a lighted skating rink, snow rafting and the unique Tornado. Enjoy the winter fun!
Day 8: A private guide will take you on an approximately 2.5-hour tour of Old Quebec. The program includes: Königsplatz, Museum of French America, Quebec Seminary, Ursuline School of Quebec, Basilica of Notre-Dame de Québec, Sainte Trinite Cathedral, Château Frontenac, St. Lawrence River, and the Old Port.
Day 9: Enjoy some free time and stroll around the city at your own pace. Optionally and at an additional cost, you can choose the excursion "Cote de Beaupré, Ile d'Orléans and Montmorency waterfall".
Day 10: After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport.

Your Destination —
Montreal
Regarded as Canada’s cultural capital, Montreal is a unique island-city on the St Lawrence River, and the perfect place for big-city thrills mixed with charming attractions. For a taste of its old-world French atmosphere, visit the cobbled streets of Old Montreal, admiring Notre Dame Basilica and the charming Place Jacques-Cartier, which feels like it’s been plucked straight from a European town.
To escape the bustling city, take a stroll through Mount Royal Park, set atop the mountain after which the city is named. After climbing to the top, you can admire fantastic views over the city’s skyscrapers and monuments below, before settling down in a restaurant to savour some authentic Montreal cuisine. Don’t miss French-inspired options like the Breton pastry kouign amann, or get a taste for Montreal’s Haitian population by trying griot - a marinated pork shoulder that tastes like it’s straight from the Caribbean isles.
While foodies will be happy in this vibrant city, there are also plenty of sights to tempt culture-vultures. Head to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts to explore Canadian art or wander the tranquil Montreal Botanical Garden, while if you’re ready for a day of thrills, La Ronde is an extensive theme park on nearby St. Helen’s Island.
