St Stephan's Cathedral
Seat of the archbishop (cardinal) of Vienna, the St Stephan's Cathedral is one of the most significant buildings of the middle European high and late Gothic period. Characteristics include the stand-alone traverse position of the towers, the integration of the Romanesque west façade, the high Gothic choir and the striking steep roof with ornate patterns of coloured tiles.
Belvedere Palaces
Two magnificent palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, were built in the 18th century as the summer residence for the general Prince Eugene of Savoy. The palaces, with their extensive gardens, are considered to be one of the world’s finest Baroque landmarks. They also house an extensive art collection, including Gustav Klimt's masterpiece "The Kiss".
Hofburg
The former Imperial Palace includes many buildings in styles of Gothic to Baroque. The complex now includes museums; the Austrian National Library; The Spanish Riding School; Imperial apartments; the halls of the Imperial Treasury; a chapel; a church; Gardens & Squares.
Schloss Schonbrunn
The palace and gardens illustrate the tastes, interests and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs.
Riesenrad (Giant Ferris wheel)
Built in 1897 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Emperor Franz Josef I. You can take a ride in one of the 15 carefully restored cabins and enjoy the view over Vienna.
