Step out of Grand Ferdinand and straight onto the cobbled streets of Vienna's old town. To start the day, take a stroll down Kaerntnerstrasse and explore the Golden Quarter, Vienna's premier shopping area. Stop off at the Demel Coffee House - one of the most traditional coffee houses of imperial Vienna - and enjoy a coffee and pastry in its lavish Rococo and Art Deco interior. 

Afterwards, make your way to the Imperial Palace to see the horses of the Spanish Riding School in training. This is the only riding school in the world where classic dressage is still practised in its purest form. 

Then, take a walk through the historic and imposing Heldenplatz (Heroes' Square), arriving at the Museum Quarter. Spend some time exploring the wealth of art in the immense Natural Art and Fine Art museums. Lovers of contemporary art should visit MUMOK - the Museum of Modern Art. For a fabulous lunch you should stop at Glacis Beisl with its beautiful sidewalk cafe.

To finish your day in Vienna, a musical performance is a must. For opera, check what's on at the famous Vienna State Opera or the Volksoper. In the famous Musikverein or Konzerthaus there are outstanding classical concerts performed by the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Symphonic orchestras.
