In 5 days, immerse yourself in the heart of two of Europe's most beautiful capitals, between gilded palaces, centuries-old cafes, and breathtaking panoramas.
Day 1 - Arrival in Vienna
Arrival at Vienna International Airport and transfer to the hotel. The afternoon is dedicated to an initial exploration of the 1st district, the Innere Stadt, the historic heart of Vienna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll along the Graben and Kohlmarkt, the two most elegant pedestrian streets in the city. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a Beisl, a traditional Austrian beer garden, for a welcome Wiener Schnitzel.
Day 2 - Vienna, the Imperial Capital
The day begins early at Schönbrunn Palace to enjoy the palace before the crowds arrive. Visit the Imperial Apartments, stroll through the formal gardens, and ascend to the Gloriette for a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city. After lunch there, return to the city center to visit the majestic St. Stephen's Cathedral, whose south tower offers stunning views over the Viennese rooftops. The afternoon continues in the Museum Quarter, with a choice of the Kunsthistorisches Museum or the Leopold Museum, depending on your artistic preferences. The day ends with coffee at the legendary Café Central, a century-old institution once frequented by Freud, Trotsky, and Stefan Zweig. In the evening, a classical music concert at the Staatsoper or in one of the city's palaces is an experience not to be missed.
Day 3 - Vienna in the Morning, Budapest in the Afternoon
The last morning in Vienna is dedicated to the Belvedere Palace, an 18th-century Baroque masterpiece that houses Austria's most famous painting, "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt. The terraced gardens offer a stunning setting for a stroll before departure. Enjoy your last meal in Vienna around the Naschmarkt, the city's most iconic covered market, perfect for sampling cheeses, cured meats, and specialties from around the world. Transfer to the airport for your 55-minute flight to Budapest (or other chosen mode of transport). Arrive in the early evening, check into your hotel on the Pest side, and begin your immersion in the city with a nighttime stroll across the illuminated Chain Bridge, where the Parliament building's facade is reflected in the Danube.
Day 4 - Budapest: The Buda Riverbank
The morning is entirely dedicated to Buda Castle Hill, the historic and peaceful side of the capital. The itinerary includes Fisherman's Bastion with its seven neo-Romanesque towers offering the most spectacular panoramic view of Budapest, Matthias Church with its colorful ceramic tiles, and a walk through the Castle District, a veritable medieval village perched above the city. Enjoy lunch at a panoramic restaurant overlooking the Danube before crossing the Chain Bridge on foot to reach Pest. The afternoon is dedicated to a guided tour of the Hungarian Parliament, one of the largest and most beautiful in the world, followed by a stroll along the riverbank to the somber and poignant Memorial of the Shoes on the Danube. In the evening, dinner in the Jewish Quarter and exploration of the famous ruin bars, including the legendary Szimpla Kert, a bar housed in a ruined building with an atmosphere unique in Europe.
Day 5 - Budapest: Culture, Relaxation, and Flavours
The morning begins with a visit to the Great Synagogue on Dohány Street, the largest in Europe, followed by an essential stop at the Great Market Hall to soak up Hungarian flavors and pick up some souvenirs: paprika, foie gras, Mangalica salami, or bottles of Tokay wine. Lunch in a traditional Hungarian canteen with a bowl of ulash or Halászlé fish soup. The afternoon is entirely dedicated to the Széchenyi Baths, Budapest's largest and most iconic thermal baths. Open-air pools, steam vents, and neo-Baroque architecture create an absolutely memorable wellness experience. The evening concludes with a gourmet dinner on Andrássy Avenue, Budapest's "Champs-Élysées," a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 6 - Last Morning in Budapest and Departure
Take a final morning stroll in City Park and explore Vajdahunyad Castle, an architectural marvel blending Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance styles in a single building.
