Day 1-4
Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
On arrival at Noi Bai international airport, welcome by our English-speaking guide, and transfer to your hotel in the city center (please note: check-in time is from 2:00 pm).

Day 2: Hanoi - Jeep tour of Hanoi countryside
Discover the true essence of Hanoi with the country Jeep tour, the most exciting way to soak up the sights, smells and tastes of this bustling city. Off the beaten track, beyond the usual tourist sites, explore the real Hanoi. Discover hidden gems and experience the hustle and bustle along the Red River, to discover a unique aspect of the city.
The jeep tour of the countryside will take you to the ceramic village of Bat Trang, where you will discover the daily life of the locals. This 1,000-year-old village is a fascinating example of the country's history and culture. Return to downtown Hanoi and visit one of the city's most famous family-run restaurants, where you'll taste the same pork grilled in fish sauce with noodles, "Bun Cha", that was served to former US President Barack Obama during his visit.
After lunch, stroll through the "36 streets of 36 goods" of the Old Quarter, led by your guide. Here you'll see typical "tube-houses" that characterize Hanoi's architecture and discover the legend of Vietnamese coffee culture and the tasting of the famous "Egg Coffee". Chat with a legendary egg coffee artist in his hidden café to learn more about coffee culture and brew your own cup, then indulge in the flavor of Hanoi. Day 3: Hanoi - Mai Chau - Cycling to the villages
Morning departure from downtown Ha Noi for a scenic 4-hour drive southwest to Mai Chau, renowned for its splendid scenery of mountains and valleys surrounded by lush countryside. Lunch with local specialties. Take your bike for a leisurely ride through the beautiful Mai Chau valley to explore the surrounding villages and learn more about their daily life, including rice cultivation, buffalo herding, and traditional house building.
Please note: Distance: 150 kilometers - 4 hours
Overnight in Mai Chau.

Day 4: Mai Chau - Hiking in the villages
Leave for the village of Cum, from where you'll start the hike to Mai Hich. You'll be in the heart of North Vietnam, with its mid-altitude mountain landscapes and verdant valleys dotted with rice paddies. Arriving in Mai Hich, you'll have lunch with a Thai family.
In the afternoon, you'll continue the two-hour hike, this time through the wild and sumptuous Mai Chau valley, with its traditional villages of wooden houses on stilts, rice and corn fields and serenity.

Day 5-8
Day 5: Mai Chau - Ninh Binh - Tam Coc - Hoa Lu
Drive to Ninh Binh, the land-locked Ha Long Bay. Visit the ancient capital of Hoa Lu for an insight into Vietnam's first three centralized feudal states: the Dinh dynasty, the Le dynasty and the Ly dynasty.
Lunch at a local restaurant. Next, enjoy a splendid sampan ride on the river to discover the caves of Tam Coc, a sight both sublime and relaxing! Continue by bike to the ancient Bich Dong pagoda and the surrounding area - typical rural landscapes of the Red River delta as well as bucolic villages.
Please note: Mai Chau - Ninh Binh: 3h30 drive
Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 6: Ninh Binh - Ha Long Bay. Cruise and overnight on board
Breakfast at your hotel. Drive (unguided) to Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage site. On arrival, you'll embark on one of the bay's most luxurious cruises, enjoy a welcome drink, check into your cabin, and have lunch (drinks not included) as the boat slowly sails into the bay (Ha Long Bay or Lan Ha Bay), past the rock formation and discover the bay's beauty on a range of fascinating excursions.
