DAY 3: HANOI - HA LONG BAY OR LAN HA BAY
Ha Long Bay is a scenic natural wonder and spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its stunning limestone rock formations, which rise out of the calm emerald-green waters of the bay. The area is also known for its rich biodiversity and many caves, grottos, and small islands that dot the bay.

DAY 7: HOI AN - HUE
Hue rests on the banks of the Perfume River, and the imperial capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. Its rich cultural and architectural heritage reflects its royal past, once home to the Nguyen Dynasty emperors. Hue is also known for its traditional cuisine, which is considered some of the best in Vietnam. Delicious local specialities include bun bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup), banh khoai (a crispy pancake filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts), and nem lui (grilled pork skewers). Visit local markets and museums, and explore the city's beautiful gardens and parks.

Exploration of Ninh Binh (also known as the earthly Ha Long Bay) with lunch included
You will find a spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks interspersed with valleys, some of which are flooded, and surrounded by spectacular cliffs.
Visit the ancient capital Hoa Lu for an insight into Vietnam's first three centralised feudal states: the Dinh Dynasty, the Le Dynasty and the Ly Dynasty. While the old citadel is probably gone, the temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties still exist, surrounded by rice fields and mountains.Continue your bike ride to Bich Dong, awarded by a king as the "second most beautiful cave in Vietnam". The cave is decorated with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites in different shapes and colours. Climb Ngu Nhac Son (Buddha Palm Mountain) and enjoy the panoramic view created by the mountains, rivers, pagodas and temples.
Tam Coc (Vietnamese for "three caves"), known as the "earthly Ha Long Bay", was formed by the Ngo Dong River flowing through a mountain. This afternoon, a trained local rower will take you along a beautiful waterway lined with rice paddies. Enjoy spectacular views of the karst formation as you explore these caves amidst the imposing mountains. Disembark the boat and follow a village path to reach the Thai Vi temple. Enjoy the beautiful rural scenery as you pass endless rice fields and the mysterious cave with a sacred shrine inside.
Return to Hanoi in the late afternoon. End of our excursion.

Itinerary:
Your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel, drive to visit My Son Sanctuary, Holy Land of the Champa Kingdom.
If time permits, you will visit a local fish market, and a village, famous for fish sauce making.
Arrive at My Son Sanctuary in a good time to enjoy a traditional performance by Cham dancers as an introduction to their culture and visit a group of ruined Hindu temple ruins and remains in the My Son Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the afternoon, take a leisure walking tour exploring the highlight of Hội An Ancient Town, listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. The narrow lanes in Hội An are ideal for a guided walking tour to explore its highlights such as old merchant houses with influences from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture.
Visit the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, first built in the 1590s by the Japanese community to link them with the Chinese quarters across the stream, and the Assembly Hall of the Chaozhou Chinese Congregation with its intricate woodcarvings.

Your tour continues with a boat ride on Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious worship in Hue. Built in 1601, the seven-storied tower pagoda perched on top of on a hill overlooking the Perfume River is one of Vietnam’s most recognizable icons.

Continue to visit An Hien Garden House, originally the residence of Emperor Duc Duc’s 18th daughter. Facing to Perfume River, the house was designed as a typical model of Hue garden architecture, and strongly influenced by feng shui principle, consisting of three compartments and two lean-tos, located almost in the center. Return to your hotel.

What would your stay in Vietnam be without a detour to the Mekong Delta, a must-see and traditional stop on a trip in this beautiful country! The programme includes agricultural landscapes, river cruises and a local lunch!
This morning, embark on a two-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City centre to Ben Tre Province.
Your driver and guide will pick you up for the excursion to the Mekong Delta.
The Mekong Delta, also knwn as "the rice bowl of Vietnam", is a very fertile plain with myriads of waterways, green rice fields, tropical fruit orchards and fish farms. Rural life here is in many ways still just as it was in the past. Geographically located as the gateway to the delta, Ben Tre is an ideal place for travellers seeking a glimpse of agricultural life along the river.
Admire the lush scenery of rice paddies and fruit farms along the road as you leave the bustling city behind. Arriving at the waterfront pier, embark on a tranquil cruise on the Mekong aboard our charming boat, a traditionally inspired river barge that combines modernity and traditional style. You'll get a glimpse of the landscape and life on the river while sampling seasonal tropical fruits and local specialities.
First stop is the house of a farmer who grows tropical fruits. Take a tour of his orchard and observe how the local farmers harvest the fruit in the traditional way. Take the opportunity to taste fresh coconuts and grapefruits while chatting with the local farmers to get an insight into their daily farming tasks. Stop for a visit to a family workshop where you will learn how coconuts are processed, then enjoy rural hospitality over a cup of tea with honey and the sweet taste of coconut sweets in a rustic but cosy atmosphere. Circumnavigate a hidden island in a traditional tuk-tuk or by bike, passing a sleepy village, local craft industries, canals and fertile orchards. Locals will often greet you with a friendly "hello" or "Xin Chao" as you pass by. Relax as you discover more of the delta aboard a small rowing boat that takes you slowly through the maze of small coconut palm-covered canals.
End your memorable day with a delicious lunch (drinks not included) of Mekong Delta specialities at a local restaurant. After lunch, relax in a hammock and enjoy the fresh breeze of the Mekong Delta before heading back to Saigon. End of our excursion.
