Your Destinations

Vietnam

Year on year Vietnam is becoming a more popular holiday destination as people start to discover all that this beautiful and fascinating country has to offer. The attraction of a holiday to Vietnam is evident when you consider its unique cultural and historical heritage set in an unspoilt, diverse and engaging landscape.

Whilst Vietnam is an extraordinary country to explore, an increasing number of tourists are going simply to relax; with over 3,000km of coastline, stunning white sand beaches and a number of deluxe resorts.

There has never been a better time to go on a Vietnam holiday than now, as the country with a fascinating past warmly embraces its future as a major player among international tourist destinations.

Phuket, Thailand

Thailand's largest island, Phuket is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southeast Asia. Separated from the country's mainland by a narrow sea channel, this island features more geographic variations than on any other Thai island: long, beautiful beaches, rocky coastlines and large limestone cliffs facing the ocean.

Khao Lak, Thailand

Khao Lak is a hidden paradise of sun, sea and sand, as well as lush tropical greenery, granite mountains and stunning waterfalls. Crystal blue water, warm tropical nights and cooling breezes from the Andaman Sea provide the ideal atmosphere to relax and unwind. Here you can visit outstanding islands offering splendid corals as well as seaweeds, sea flowers, corallines and various species of fish.

Whatever it is you're after while on holiday there is a good chance you will find it in this beautiful corner of Thailand.

After a long flight, you will arrive at this nearly thousand-year-old capital – Hanoi. Your guide will meet you at Noi Bai Airport and transfer you to the hotel in the city centre. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi (Breakfast & Lunch)
After breakfast at your hotel, the day starts with visit a to the complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh – the nation’s founder, containing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (viewed from outside), and house on stilts. This complex also comprises the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of the city. After that, visit Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature & Vietnam’s first university). Constructed in the 11th century, the gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam's past.

After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (closed on Mondays) which offers an insight into the 54 different ethnic groups of Vietnam. Then discover the daily life of the Hanoian with a cyclo (rickshaw) ride around the Old Quarter streets which were named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast, between 07:30 – 08.00, you will leave Hanoi for Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. Upon arrival, transfer to a junk for a cruise around Ha Long Bay with a delicious local seafood lunch served on board. Passing many rocks and islets in shape of Dog, Incense, Fighting-cock, Finger, Hoa Cuong etc. and visit a cave and short swim, kayak (kayak cost is not included in this package), if weather permits. Have dinner on board. In the evening, enjoy the night squid fishing and later overnight on board.

Day 4: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Da Nang (Brunch)
In the morning, brunch will be served while the boat continues cruising, pass by several rocks, islets then moving toward Ha Long City for disembarking around 11 am. As soon as you arrive at the pier, the boat company’s shuttle bus will bring you back to your hotel in Hanoi, where your driver will be waiting for you then drive to Noi Bai International Airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival at Da Nang International airport, transfer to hotel in Hoi An and check in. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 5: Hoi An (Breakfast and Lunch)
After breakfast at your hotel, meet the guide for a visit to My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site, 40 km southwest of Hoi An. Located in a lush valley, My Son once was a capital and religious centre of Cham people. With its impressive red brick towers and sanctuaries, My Son is considered to be in the same league as some of Southeast Asia's greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, and Ayutthaya in Thailand and Borobudur in Indonesia. The remaining towers and sanctuaries were built from the 7th to 13th centuries.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour around Hoi An Ancient Town. Visit the Japanese covered bridge, Chinese assembly hall, a typical Vietnamese merchant’s house, one of the interesting museums and the local market. There’re numerous art galleries, souvenirs and tailor shops where you can get some express made-to-measure clothes if you like.

The next visit is to the home of a craftsman in the old streets. Here you’ll have a brief introduction to the history, shape and colour of the lanterns as well as stages of making them. After that, you can make a lantern on your own, decorate, pack and keep it as a souvenir of your time in Hoi An. Head back to the hotel to relax. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 6: Hoi An – Da Nang – Can Tho (Breakfast)
After breakfast, enjoy free time on your own until transfer to the airport in Da Nang for the flight to Can Tho. Upon arrival, the driver will pick you up and drive you to your hotel. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 7: Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market – Ben Tre (Breakfast & Lunch)
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before an early morning cruise along the small and picturesque tributaries by motorboat, we will see the Cai Rang Floating Market – the busiest but nicest one with heaps of rowing boats.

See the beautiful scenery and daily activities of the locals. After that, continue your boat trip to Truc Lam Monastery along the river and then stop at Ut Dzach's family who make Banh Hoi, rice flour buns using traditional techniques. The owner will show you the process of making 'Banh Hoi': from mixing the flour, squeezing the noodles with a long bamboo pole to spraying them.

Then enjoy the time to chat with family members. Bid farewell to the Dzach family and enjoy a short walk to the river port. Board on a local ferry crossing the river to reach where the driver is waiting for you. On the way to Ben Tre, have lunch at a local restaurant. Arrive at Ben Tre in the late afternoon, check-in hotel and rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight in Ben Tre.
Day 8: Ben Tre – Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast & Lunch)
After breakfast, transfer to board on a new boat design open on all sides to allow the river breezes to flow freely. Meandering down the Mekong, you'll have a chance to observe local life plays out on the riverbanks: the people and stunning landscapes, while your attentive crew serves cold drinks and seasonal fruit.

Your first visit is at a coconut-shell-charcoal processing site on a small islet. Observe the whole procedure and see how the locals utilize every bit of the coconut. Return to the boat for a short ride to the next attraction. Hop back on the mainland, see how locals peel off coconut husks with simple tools. Next, a tuk-tuk ride will take you to a local family making coconut-leaf-swabs. Meet our friendly host and gain insight into local traditional methods to make a swab, a hands-on and fun experience.

Continue with a relaxing bike ride on the lush and green rural road. Cycle through peaceful villages, meet friendly & smiling locals saying hello and feel the tranquil scenes of rural life. Next, relax on a rowing boat as you wind your way through the crisscrossing canals observing the slow pace of Mekong Delta life. Then a short walk on a narrow village lane brings you to Mr Ba’s family. His hospitable greetings and tasty local cake will make you feel immediately at home. His family members are happy to share the local cake making procedure. Join them, try to make a local cake on your own under their enthusiastic instruction. Enjoy tea with honey and dried coconut while chatting with them about their daily routines, local culture, customs and why you don’t let a local fortune-teller tell you what is supposed to happen in the future.

Lunch is served with Mekong specialities at Riverside Restaurant. Relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere before transferring to the pier where the waiting driver will take you back to Saigon.

Upon arrival in Saigon, take a “get acquainted tour” to Central Post Office, and the Notre Dame Cathedral (outside) before heading to your hotel then check-in. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City – Depart (Breakfast)
Breakfast at your hotel then you will be free to go shopping or explore the city by yourself until transfer to the airport for the departure flight.

Please Note: The Ha Long Bay itinerary will be changed to be adapted to the weather condition and boat availability. You will have a shared English speaking guide on the boat only.
