10-Night Itinerary
Upon arrival at the airport, your guide and driver will meet you and drive you to your hotel in the city centre. Spend the rest of the day free at leisure and enjoy an overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast and Lunch Included)
After breakfast, visit the Central post office, a remnant of the French colonial era and perhaps the largest post office in Southeast Asia. Located next to the Notre-Dame Saigon Cathedral, these two cultural sites can be visited together and offer visitors the opportunity to imagine life in Vietnam at the time of the Indochinese Empire. Continue your trip to the Reunification Palace, the former residence of the Governor General of Indochina then President of the Republic of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue your visit to a local food market a flower market, and a place of residence to observe local life. The last stop of the day is the unforgettable Jade Emperor pagoda. The pagoda is filled with smoky incense and fantastic carved figurines. It was built by the Cantonese community at the end of the 20th century and continues to buzz with the faithful. Return to hotel to relax and enjoy an overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, the guide will take you to Tra Vinh (about 1h30 drive). Upon arrival at Bà Om pond, transfer by tuk-tuk or bicycle to around the Khmer village. Admire the painted walls along the village streets – the paintings that depict the strong characters of Khmer culture and daily life in South Vietnam. Stop to visit the Sơn Hương family to learn about their works of art such as the hat and the crowns used in Khmer performances (Tu deng performances, Dù Kê). Take a look at the Khmer musical instruments, such as: The Ngmâm musical instrument and other instruments that the Khmers play in the wedding party. Enjoy traditional dance performance by the family members. Continue your visit with several stop at local houses and learn about their handicraft skills: Mrs. Thone's family (bamboo baskets knitting), Mr. Sang's family (Cốm Dẹp, a kind of traditional Khmer food during the full moon worship, 10th lunar October). Lunch at a local house. In the afternoon, visit Ba Om Pond and Khmer Museum before leaving for an overnight stay in Can Tho.
Day 4: Can Tho - Floating Market - Hanoi (Breakfast and Lunch Included)
After breakfast, at 07.00 take a morning cruise by motorboat along the small picturesque tributaries to the Cai Rang Floating Market. See the beautiful scenery and daily activities of the locals. After visiting the market, continue your boat trip to Truc Lam Monastery located by the river. You then visit a local market and the Ong pagoda.Return to hotel to check-out and transfer to the airport for the flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will pick you up and drive you to your hotel where you will spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Hanoi.
After breakfast at hotel, at 08.00 a guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. Begin your exploration by following the most famous streets in the heart of the Old Quarters, and discover the dark and tiny alleys. You will stop at a house in the old neighbourhood and visit the locals who have been living here for over 50 years. You will learn more about local traditions, culture and way of life. Continue to Dong Xuan Market, the biggest retail market in the Old Quarters, where you can find all the incredible and inexpensive shopping, ranging from exotic herbs to fresh fruits and vegetables, fragrant flowers to craft and the wooden decoration. On the way, you will have 2 stops to sample the drink and typical local dishes. The walk ends at O Quan Chuong gate, the only gate with 5 doors surrounding the citadel Thang Long, survives as a real "square door". Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Ethnology Museum, a valuable centre for the exhibition and conservation of cultural achievements of 54 ethnic groups present in Vietnam giving an excellent overview of the cultural richness of Vietnam. Before heading back to hotel, visit the Temple of Literature (known as the first university of Vietnam). Overnight stay in Hanoi.
Day 6: Hanoi - Lu Puong (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you to Pu Luong Nature Reserve. You will pass by a breathtaking mountain offering a panoramic view of the entire valley. You will arrive in Pu Luong after a 5-hour drive. Lunch at a local restaurant or homestay. You will be transferred to a suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you will begin your walk in search of stunning water wheels. Get up close to each wheel and discover how water is moved from the river to handmade bamboo aqueducts via simple constructions of all sizes. Arrive at a local fisherman’s house, and enjoy a short rest to gear up for the rafting adventure with Dinh and his team. Float along the calm river and enjoy the views, in between learning how to paddle and steer your handcrafted rafts. Arriving at the scenic Tan Lap Bridge, and disembark before being transferred back to accommodation for dinner. Overnight stay in Pu Luong.
After breakfast, take an easy walk around the most beautiful valley of rice terraces in front of your lodge. You will hike through small paths covered with vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque Uoi village sitting at the foot of a high mountain. Continue downhill to Uoi village and then to the Lan village. Cross the rice fields to return to the main road, head back to your lodge/hotel for check-out. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer to Ninh Binh. You will arrive in Ninh Binh after a 3.5 hour drive. Spend the rest of the day free at leisure and enjoy an overnight stay in Ninh Binh.
Day 8: Ninh Binh (Breakfast and Lunch Included)
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to Trang An pier, where a flat-bottomed rowing boat will take you to discover what is called "Ha Long Bay on Land". The boat will cross many flooded caves with strange names such as: Tối (dark), Sáng (bright), Seo, Nau Ruou (alcohol distillation), Ba Giot (three caves) etc. Trang An has about 48 caves discovered nowadays. The play of tectonics that has been exercised in these places for millions of years has made it a vast complex that constitutes a unique ecosystem hosting several dozen endemic species of fauna and flora. The boat ride will take about 2 hours round trip. Please Note: This trip will be replaced by Van Long Nature Reserve during the period from 20 Jan – end March 2020 due to the fact that there are many local tourists in the Trang An Reserve. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer to visit Phat Diem Cathedral which located 28 km from Ninh Binh city on an area of about 22 ha, and in the village of Phat Diem. It was built in 1891 by a Vietnamese priest, Mr. Pierre Tran Luc, better known as Father Six. This cathedral is peculiar for the architecture of pagodas and communal houses tonkinois. The architectural ensemble of the cathedral includes a large church, five small churches, campanile Phuong Dinh – masterpiece of this architectural ensemble, pond and three artificial rock caves. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Ninh Binh.
After breakfast, you will depart by road to Ha Long Bay, a world heritage site of outstanding natural beauty. Travel through the rich agricultural lands of the Red River Delta and rice paddy landscapes, water buffaloes, daily life of Vietnamese villages. You arrive at Ha Long Bay after a 4-hour drive. Check-in and enjoy lunch on board. The cruise goes through many rocks and islets in various forms, and make several stops to visit surprising caves.Dinner and overnight on board. Please Note: This itinerary is subject to change due to boat availability or weather conditions without prior notice.
Day 10: Ha Long Bay - Hanoi (Brunch Included)
In the morning, continue the cruise to discover the beauties of the bay before returning to dock. The junk heads towards the port of Ha Long. The light lunch aboard the junk in the form of a brunch will close this magnificent cruise. All the crew will come to greet you and thank you when you disembark at the port at about 11 am, where the driver will be waiting for you to drive you back to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi, check-in your hotel enjoy free time for the rest of the day. Overnight stay in Hanoi.
Day 11: Departure from Hanoi (Breakfast Included)
After breakfast, enjoy a transfer to the airport for your return flight home.

3-Night Laos Extension
After breakfast, enjoy free time until you're transferred to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel to check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
Day 12: Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave (Breakfast and Lunch Included)
After breakfast, enjoy a climb to the top of Mount Phousi for a pleasant exploration of the sacred and golden stupa as well as a beautiful view over the city and the Mekong River. Continue your Luang Prabang City tour with the impressive Wat Mai stupa and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs that descend to the ground, which represent the classical architecture of the Luang Prabang temple. Next up, visit the legend Wat That Luang, which is an ancient monastery established by Buddhist missionaries of Asoka in the third century BC. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, drive to the pier and cruise to visit the Pak Ou Cave. On the way, you visit Ban Xiang Hai, which is well known by Laos Whiskey. Continue to cruise along the Mekong River, which also offers magnificent views of the tranquil countryside and an interesting tour of the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, filled with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
At dawn, you will participate in the ceremony of the offerings dedicated to the Bonzes. After breakfast, spend a full day discovering Luang Prabang – Capital of the Kingdom of Lane Xang until the middle of the 16th century. Luang Prabang will amaze you with its many temples, its enchanting setting on the banks of the Mekong River, its rhythm of peaceful life, and its colonial style buildings. Transfer to visit Kuang Si Waterfall, and en-route, stop at the local villages of Lao. Follow the unpaved trail as it gradually climbs through the forest to reach different levels of natural blue pools - some are shallow and one central pool has a rope swing. Enjoy your leisure time and capture nice photos of Kuang Si. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue on the road to visit a Buffalo Farm, the first and only buffalo dairy in Laos, producing a wide range of cheeses and artisanal products; including mozzarella, blue cheese, feta and ice cream to name a few. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to try these delicious cheeses and get "closer to home" with beautiful buffalos and other farm animals. You will have 45 minutes with the animals on the farm, and can join in with fun activities, such as feeding the buffaloes, washing them, participating in a demonstration of milking and playing with pigs and rabbits. Last but not least, discover the Bazaar night market with its beautiful collections and handmade, local textiles. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
Day 14: Departure from Luang Prabang (Breakfast Included)
After breakfast, enjoy a transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
