Located on the Saigon River, Ho Chi Minh City, (or Saigon, as it is still called by locals) is Vietnam's major port and largest city, where wide downtown avenues are flanked by grand colonial architecture, most notably the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
As is the case in so many of southeast Asia's cities, Ho Chi Minh City is an intriguing mix of ancient and modern, where traditional bustling fruit and veg markets exist peaceably alongside blaring traffic horns and high rise offices.
Home to thousands of expats as well as Vietnamese locals, the dining and nightlife scene is lively and welcoming, with plenty of Western or authentic Vietnamese food readily available.
Just a few kilometres from Phan Thiet, Mui Ne is a popular weekend getaway from Ho Chi Minh City, with visitors drawn to its sandy beaches facing the South China Sea.
It is famed for its steady wind conditions (in the dry season) that make it a top destination for windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing and other water sports. This gives the area a laidback, "surfer vibe" , although there are still plenty of upmarket hotels, restaurants and shops to explore.
The soaring sand dunes help protect the area's unique microclimate, so you can expect warm, dry days all year round.

Our members can choose to add the following excursions at the next stage of the booking process for an additional fee. These options will take place on days 2 or 3.
Option 1: Ho Chi Minh City & Cu Chi Tunnels
After breakfast at 8:00, you will meet your guide and visit the moving and harrowing War Remnants Museum which presents a partial but riveting view of the American War, as it is known in Vietnam. Continue to the Reunification Palace, a former residence of the Indochina General and later President of the Republic of South Vietnam, until reunification on April 30 1975. Next, visit other highlights of the city including the gorgeous Notre Dame Cathedral, the wedding cake-lake Old Post Office, and the bustling Ben Thanh Market.
In the afternoon, you will travel 70km out of Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi Tunnels, created since 1948 to assist the Viet Minh to combat the French. This is an underground city with living areas, kitchens, storage, weapon shops, field hospitals and command centers. During the Vietnam War the entire area of Cu Chi was designated a fire free zone and was heavily bombarded. From 1988, two sections of the tunnels have been opened for visitors.

Option 2: Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong Delta
After breakfast, it takes only 2 hours pleasant drive to Ben Tre province crossing Rach Mieu bridge. On arrival in Hung Vuong Pier, hop on a motorized boat on Ben Tre River – one of tributaries of Mekong river while sight-seeing lively activities along river as fishing, water transferring. Our first stop is at brick kiln to see how to make bricks traditionally by printing and baking. Continue to visit one of plenty of coconut processing workshops located along canal. Return to the boat and go through natural scissors creeks to a village and see some local houses making sleeping mats and enjoying some fruits.
Take a motorized cart (tuk tuk) or bicycle on shady paths, pass by green rice fields and vegetable plains to be able to touch on real life and find out about tropical culture from peasants. Have lunch at local a riverside restaurant.
After lunch, we take a rowing-boat along beautiful water palm creek before meeting up the motorized boat and transfer you back to the pier. Return to hotel after a memorable day merging in Mekong Delta local living.
