Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Arrival
Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in the city centre to check in. Relax after a long journey. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, visit the incredible underground Cu Chi Tunnels network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence and reunification.
In the afternoon, visit the moving War Remnants Museum which presents a partial, but riveting, view of the American War, as it is known in Vietnam. Continue to the Reunification Palace, the former residence of the Indochina Governor-General and later President of the Republic of Southern Vietnam, until the fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975. The day ends with a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral and the bustling Ben Thanh Market. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Hue. Upon landing, you'll be greeted by your guide and proceed to downtown Hue. Check in your hotel and have lunch at your own expense.
In the afternoon, start a cyclo (rickshaw) tour around the poetic city of Hue, along the banks of the Perfume River. Visit the Imperial Citadel where Kings of Vietnam’s last feudal dynasty ruled from 1802 to 1945, including Flag Tower, Nine Holy Cannons, Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, Nine Dynastic Urns, Forbidden Purple City, etc. Overnight in Hue.
After breakfast, take a Dragon boat Cruise upstream of the peaceful Perfume River (Huong River) to Thien Mu Pagoda. A car will pick you up there to proceed to the King Tu Duc Tomb. This tomb is set in an elegant garden with a magnificent lake and pavilion complex.
Then you will drive along the most beautiful coast of Vietnam to Hoi An. Stop on Hai Van pass for a panoramic view of the white sand beach, blue sea and green mountains.
Upon arrival in Hoi An, take a guided walking tour around the ancient town. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese Assembly Hall, and the local market. There’re numerous art galleries, souvenirs and tailor shops where you can get some express made-to-order clothes if you like! Overnight in Hoi An.
Perhaps more than any other place in Vietnam, Hoi An retains a sense of charm and history that have largely escaped the destruction of successive wars. The town, once a riverside village, is now a tourist town packed with hotels, restaurants, bars, tailors and souvenir shops. There is nothing like wandering about the town on a full moon night of every month when motorbikes are banned from the Old Town, which is transformed into a magical land of silk lanterns, traditional food, song and dance, and games in the streets. You will have 4 free days for beach relaxation in Hoi An!
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be free until check out time, when you will meet your driver for a short drive to the airport. You will board a flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi, you'll be met by your guide and check in your downtown accommodation. Overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast, visiting Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum before exploring his house on stilts. A short walk from the mausoleum is one of the great symbols of Hanoi, the One Pillar Pagoda, an 11th-century wooden temple built on a single stone pillar in the water. It was designed to resemble a blooming lotus.You will then take a tour around the beautiful West Lake takes us to Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hanoi’s oldest pagoda and further to the venerable Temple of Literature built in 1077 – Vietnam’s first university. Lunch will be at your own expense.
In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Ethnology where display artefacts of 54 minorities people in Vietnam. After the visit, return to the Old Quarter of Hanoi for a walking tour around the Old Streets which were named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Stop at Hoan Kiem Lake to learn about the legend of the lake and visit Ngoc Son Temple. Overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast, you will depart by road to Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. Travel through the rich farmlands of the Delta of Red River and the landscape of rice fields, water buffalo, the daily life of the Vietnamese village. Upon arrival, hop aboard your ship. Enjoy a welcome drink before you check into your cabin.
While the junk boat is passing many rocky islets, caves, floating villages and beaches, your lunch will be served on board with fresh seafood. Explore a beautiful cave then enjoy kayaking from Titov beach to Luon Cave, which is thrust through a mountain’s foot and leads to exotic mountains covered by dense jungle. Enjoy the sunset on the bay. Later on, the junk boat will move onto a quiet area to dock for an overnight stay. Dinner with Vietnamese food is served on board.
After breakfast, you will move to a day boat and go to another remote area of the bay where you will have time to swim, sunbathe, paddle on a kayak to explore hidden lagoons and caves. Lunch will be served on this small boat. By the mid-afternoon, you will be transferred back to your big boat for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Tea and coffee are served with cakes as your brunch. Cruise through the bay and see more islands and islets. Check out and enjoy brunch on board. At about 11 am, you will disembark and drive back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 14: Hanoi - Departure (B)
After breakfast, you will be free in Hanoi until you are transferred to the airport (no guide) in a good time to connect to your departure flight.
Please Note: The Ha Long Bay itinerary will be changed to be adapted to the weather condition and boat availability. You will have a shared English speaking guide on the boat only.
