Your Destinations

Year on year, Vietnam is becoming a more popular holiday destination as people start to discover all that this beautiful and fascinating country has to offer. The attraction of a holiday to Vietnam is evident when you consider its unique cultural and historical heritage set in an unspoilt, diverse and engaging landscape. Whilst Vietnam is an extraordinary country to explore, an increasing number of tourists are going simply to relax; with over 3,000km of coastline, stunning white sand beaches and a number of deluxe 5-star resorts.

The ancient city of Hanoi (founded in 1010) has it all. It is the capital of Vietnam and is famed for its ancient architecture, boasting a very diverse culture with injections of influences from Asia, China and France. At the centre of Hanoi is the bustling Old Quarter, where the narrow thoroughfares are divided into trades. A visit here is not complete without a trip to the Dong Xuan market where the world famous street food must be sampled.

Your Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival (Dinner Included)

You will arrive in Hanoi, the capital, a city with over one thousand years of history. After landing at Noi Bai International Airport, your guide will transfer you to your hotel, allowing you to drop your luggage and relax.

In the afternoon, your first impression of Vietnam will start with a visit to the Temple of Literature. In 1076, Quoc Tu Giam – Vietnam's first university – was established next to the temple to educate the children of the Vietnamese royalty, mandarins, and members of the elite. The university functioned for an incredible time-span of 700 years, and its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a wonderful glimpse of Vietnam’s past. If you are lucky enough, you may meet a calligraphy master and have the opportunity to learn about this traditional artwork. Do not forget to ask him for your lucky words!

You will then be transferred back to your hotel to relax on your own before being taken to a local restaurant for your welcome dinner.

Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi - Countryside (Breakfast and Lunch Included)

After breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel at 08.00 am by your guide and driver for a car ride to the Ha Tay province which is located about 1-hour from the city centre. Here, you will visit the Thay Pagoda (Master Pagoda). This is complex of several buildings and is known as a famous pilgrimage centre for Hanoians not only for its ritual value but also for the romanticism of the site which is perfectly reflected in a small lake.

Afterwards, you will continue your trip to the Duong Lam Village, a small, purely agricultural village in the north of the Red River Delta, where several hundred-year-old houses still survive. Take a walk around the village to discover the daily life and work of Vietnamese peasants on the fields with a break in two ancient houses: the largest dating back more than 200 years and the oldest dating back more than 400 years. You will also visit the Mia Pagoda (one of the most beautiful pagodas in Vietnam), which was built in the 15th century. Here, you can admire 287 statues of all the sizes, within which are famous sculptures such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities.

You will then return to Hanoi's city centre and have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (closed Monday), before discovering the daily life of Hanoians with an hour in a cyclo/electric car around the Old Quarters.

Overnight in Hanoi.

Moc Chau is a big plateau in Son La province, which is famous for its poetic nature, large cow flocks, and for being the capital of the famed ‘O Long’ tea. After a 3 hour drive, gorgeous limestone mountains, stunning valleys and lush rice paddies will start to appear on either side of the road. Get your camera ready for some photo opportunities (the best months to visit Moc Chau are between February and April and between August and November).

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After lunch, you will have the chance to visit the large and beautiful Thai & H’mong villages, lying at the bottom of a limestone mountain. Take time to discover the rhythm of life and the local customs. Alternatively, spend your time enjoying the glamour of the beautiful wildflowers, hills and peach gardens!
