Your Itinerary —
During their tour, our members will follow the itinerary as seen below.
After a long flight, you will arrive in the thousand-year-old city of Hanoi. Your driver will transfer you from Noi Bai Airport to your hotel in the city centre. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and enjoy an overnight stay in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi
After breakfast, you will start your day of discovering the city. Your guide will take you to visit the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (outside), his house on stilts and the one pillar pagoda, walking from Hoang Hoa Tham street to the Ngoc Ha village, you will see a bent metal from the destroyed plane half submerged in the middle of Huu Tiep Lake. The rest of the American B-52 bomber crashed 50 years ago and is still there as a trophy for Vietnam's victory over the dreaded B-52s.
Take a walk around the lake and meet Mr. Duc, the last witness when the B-52 was shot down and crashed into the lake. Try traditional Vietnamese snacks and tea while learning about the Vietnam War through stories and memories of Mr. Duc about 12 days and nights in Hanoi during the US Army Linebacker II campaign while his wife is preparing the food. Enjoy the family atmosphere of a Vietnamese house, taste the local cuisine and discover the culture of the Hanoians.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Literature (the first university in Vietnam). Continue the trip to the Museum of Ethnology (closed every Monday), a precious center for the exhibition and conservation of the cultural assets of the 54 ethnic groups present in Vietnam. Finally, you will return to the city centre for 45 minute cyclo ride around the city centre. Overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast, depart to Ninh Binh which is nicknamed "Ha Long Bay on Land". You will arrive into Ninh Binh after 2 hours and then will be transferred to the pier of the Hai Nham site. This is still a site that is not visited by many tourists. Take a traditional boat in the poetic landscapes of Hai Nham between limestone peaks, and on the way, visit the impressive Purpose cave. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, ride a bike on the country road to see the life of the locals. Finally, you visit the Bich Dong pagodas (Jade pagodas) located on the side of the Bich Dong mountain, of the Ngu Nhac Son chain. Return to Hanoi and free time. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 4: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay
After breakfast at the hotel, a shuttle bus will pick you up at your hotel. You will travel by road to Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage Site of outstanding natural beauty. Arrive at Ha Long Bay after a 3.5 hour drive and board your ship for your overnight cruise. Enjoy a welcome drink and begin your cruise on Ha Long Bay. You will pass by the islands, the islets. Lunch and dinner are both served on board. In the evening, you may be able enjoy night time fishing if this service is available (on request). Overnight on board the boat.
In the morning, you will sail through Bai Tu long bay while having breakfast. You will pass by several rocks and islets, the cave of Bo Nau and the fish villages. You will then disembark your ship around 11:00 am, where the shuttle bus is waiting to take you back to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi, your private driver will pick you up to go to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to the hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City
Today you have a day of sightseeing, offering a good mix of famous attractions and markets, less known sites of this bustling city. First, you will go to the Ho Chi Minh City central post office and Notre Dame Cathedral. The two cultural sites can be visited together and offer visitors the opportunity to imagine life in Vietnam during the Indochinese Empire. Continue to the Reunification Palace, former residence of the Governor General of Indochina and then President of the Republic of South Vietnam until the fall of Saigon, April 30, 1975. You will then enjoy lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit a local food market, a flower market, and traditional home to observe local life. The last stop of the day is the unforgettable Ngoc Hoang - the jade emperor pagoda. The pagoda is filled with smoky incense and fantastic carved figurines. It was built by the Cantonese community at the turn of the 20th century and continues to buzz with worshipers. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast at your hotel, depart to Vinh Long and visit Vinh Long local market in town. This is the best choice for a photo shoot of fish, shrimps, shrimps, crabs, snakes, rice field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables. Continue your boat cruise to visit the local workshops where you able to see how to make rice leaves, coconut candies and rice and popcorn. Enjoy some types of candy with a cup of hot tea. You will then walk to visit a local family, enjoying some local fruit and tea while listening to traditional music. Enjoy lunch in a fruitful orchard. You will then continue to cruise along the Mekong while observing numerous floating cages for fish farming. Continue passing My An canal to see many brick ovens on both sides and make our way to the Hòa Tịnh canal. You will then walk in the peaceful village to see how they make bricks, trays and bamboo baskets, the making of conical hats by hand. After that, depart to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 8: Can Tho - Floating market - Ho Chi Minh City
After departure from your hotel at 06:30 am, take a motorboat along the floating market of Cai Rang. It is one of the most exciting floating markets in the Mekong Delta that sell colorful products. See the beautiful landscapes and the daily activities of the inhabitants. You will cross a few villages to visit a rice husking mill or the Ba Cong garden. Disembark at the Ninh Kieu wharf. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Check out of your hotel and continue visiting the Ong pagoda before hitting the road to return to Ho Chi Minh City. You will enjoy lunch on the road. After a journey of about 3.5 hours, you will arrive back into Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 9: Departure from Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time to discover the city until you are transferred to the airport for your return flight.
