Please note that the advice can change, and you should continue to check all advice until you travel.

Entry Requirements

You must ensure you have a valid passport to travel on.

Until 30 June 2021, ‘British Citizen’ passport holders travelling for tourism can enter Vietnam for up to a maximum of 15 days (counting the dates of entry and exit) without a visa. If you have a different type of British nationality – for example ‘British national (overseas)’ you’ll need to get a visa before entering Vietnam.

If you’re planning to make multiple visits in a short period to Vietnam, consider applying for a multiple entry visa. You can’t get another 15-day visa waiver within 30 days of your last visit - you’ll need to get a visa or an e-visa to re-enter the country.

For longer durations of 16 to 30 days (for example if you arrive in Vietnam on 23rd August and leave on 7th September), you must get an e-visa online before you travel. The use of an e-visa is limited to certain entry/exit points which you must select at the time of application. E-visas are only applicable to ‘British Citizen’ passport holders.

For more information on entry requirements please go to https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/vietnam/entry-requirements

UK health authorities have classified Vietnam as having a risk of Zika virus transmission. For information and advice about the risks associated with Zika virus, visit the National Travel Health Network and Centre website.

If you’re taking prescription medication into Vietnam, carry it in your hand luggage with a copy of the prescription. If it has a total import value greater than US$100, you should declare it at customs.

Please note that passport, visa and health requirements can change. It is every traveller’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport, any required visas, and all the necessary vaccinations/health requirements as well as adequate insurance.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the UK Government is currently requesting that all travellers returning to the UK, (with exceptions), must provide their journey and contact details up to 48 hours before arrival, and self-isolate at home for 14 days. These restrictions will be reviewed every three weeks.
