Your Destinations

Cambodia

Cambodia has remained hidden from the outside world for much of the last century. It is now, however, emerging from years of isolation and becoming increasingly popular on the traveller's trail.

This fascinating country offers a true taste of Southeast Asia before the arrival of tourism and modernisation. It has a diverse landscape from dusty hot cities and mountainous jungles to beautifully calm bays and pristine beaches. At the turn of the millennium, Siem Reap was a Cambodian provincial town with few facilities, minor surfaced roads and little in the way of nightlife. Now it is a major tourist hub due to its proximity to the world-famous temples of Angkor (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Vietnam

There has never been a better time to go on a Vietnamese holiday than now, as the country with a fascinating past warmly embraces its future as a major player among international tourist destinations. When visiting Vietnam you will discover a country that offers something for every holidaymaker. From the tranquillity of Sapa, the charms of Hanoi, the natural beauty of Ha Long Bay and the ancient wonders of Hoi An, a Vietnamese holiday offers something for everyone, making it a truly unequalled travel experience.

Your Excursions

Optional Excursions

You may choose to add the following excursions at the next stage of the booking process.

Angkor Temples – Small Circuit (Day 2 - Lunch included)
After breakfast, start to explore the Angkor complex with two special temples outside of Siem Reap:
Banteay Srei: nearly everyone’s favourite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of its decorative carving.
Banteay Samre: Its rose-coloured sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer.

Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, you will continue to visit the below beautiful sites:
- The fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of huge trees and gigantic creepers
Prasat Kravan – with its unique sculptures on the bricks
Srah Srang – The Royal Bathtubs "was once used for the ritual bath”
Banteay Kdei located south of Ta Promh and was built in the middle of the 12th century to the beginning of the 13th century by king Jayavarman II in Mahayana Buddhism with following at least two different art periods.
Return to the hotel to relax.
Angkor Thom & Angkor Wat by tuk-tuk (Day 3 - Lunch included)
In the morning, take a tuk-tuk on the less travelled roads of Siem Reap to cross the jungle passing by local villages and local shops. You will have the chance to explore some of the most beautiful temples of Angkor. You will visit from the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourists:
- The ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century)
- See the South Gate, Bayon Temple – unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara
- Phimeanakas
- The Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King

Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the famous temple of Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendour. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. Return to the hotel.
Floating Village & Roluos Temple Group (Day 4 - Lunch included)
Pick up will be from your hotel at about 8:00 am. Start with a drive to Kompong Khleang village and gaze upon its beautiful landscapes: floodplains, expanses of water, and rice fields. Then take a hike in the village to explore the local life before taking a traditional boat ride along the canals. Return to Siem Reap & lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the Roluos Temple Group. The ruins of Roluos are among the oldest Khmer monuments in the area, dating back to the 9th-century reign of King Indravarman I. Witness the evolution of these magnificent temples from the early days of the Khmer empire up to its peak with the Angkor temples in the 13th century. There are three key Hindu structures that remain at Roluos; Lolei, Bakong and Preah Ko, which were all part of the ancient city of Hariharalaya. You will peacefully explore the temples and soak up the local atmosphere away from the crowds. Return to the hotel.

Note: A boat ride on Tonle Sap is not recommended during the dry season (March to July) due to the lack of water. During this period, this tour can be replaced by the excursion to Siem Reap countryside as below:

After breakfast, take a tuk-tuk to explore one of the local villages where you can see the daily activities of the locals. Wander around the village to meet shy but humble villagers. Many children and adults will offer friendly smiles during your visits to their village.

After that, visit a local market where you will discover an unknown mix of colours, smells and sounds as you walk through the small alleys. Meet some of the friendly Khmer people who sell and buy a variety of foods and household goods.

Visits to My Son Holy Land & Hoi An City Tour (Day 6 - Lunch included)
You will be picked up at your hotel at 8.00am to visit My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site 40 km southwest of Hoi An. Located in a lush valley, My Son was once a capital and religious centre of the Cham people. With its impressive red brick towers and sanctuaries, My Son is considered to be in the same league as some of Southeast Asia's greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, and Ayutthaya in Thailand. The remaining towers and sanctuaries were built from the 7th to 13th centuries. Lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour around Hoi An Ancient Town. Visit the Japanese covered bridge, Chinese assembly hall, a typical Vietnamese merchant’s house, one of the interesting museums and the local market. There’re numerous art galleries, souvenirs and tailor shops where you can get some express made-to-order clothes if you like. Back to the hotel to relax.

Hue City Tour (Day 7 - Lunch Included)
At about 7.30am, your guide will pick you up then proceed along one of Vietnam most scenic highways to Hue. When crossing the Hai Van Pass, you will have a chance to gaze over a superb panorama of the central coastline and the beach of Lang Co – one of the most beautiful beaches of Vietnam.

Upon arrival, take your transfer to explore the Imperial Citadel (World Cultural Heritage) including Hat Tower, Ngo Mon Gate, Palace of Thai Hoa. Lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit King Minh Mang Tomb located on the left bank of the Huong River, which represents the perfect harmony between nature and architecture. Minh Mang King (1821–1840) boasted to have 64 princesses and 78 princes. Return to your hotel in Hoi An to relax.
Hanoi City Tour (Day 9 - Lunch included)
The day starts with a visit to the complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh – the nation’s founder, containing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (outside), and the house on stilts. This complex also comprises the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origin dates back to the foundation of the city. After that, visit Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature & Vietnam’s first university). Constructed in the 11th century, the gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam's past. Lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology which focuses on the 54 officially recognised ethnic groups in Vietnam. Then take a cyclo (a type of rickshaw) around the Old Quarter streets which were named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Stop to visit Ngoc Son Temple. Return to your hotel.

Explore the Villages (Day 13)
After breakfast, take a hike through fruit gardens and vegetable farms to the southern end of Cat Cat Village (from 1,486m to 1,288m). Then follow the steps down to Muong Hoa River, enjoy a short rest near Cat Cat waterfall (1,212m). Walk up the steps again to visit the beautiful villages of Sin Chai then Y Linh Ho (at 1,018m), and then another village of the Black H'mong with lot traces of slash and burn agriculture along the way. Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, continue to Lao Chai Village of Black H’mong people, where you will take a light trek through Muong Hoa Valley with beautiful scenery to Ta Van Village of the Dzay people. During the hike, you will have the chance to meet the locals dressed in their traditional costumes. Return to your hotel.
