There is also plenty to discover away from the stunning beaches. The island's capital Stone Town is a captivating labyrinth of narrow streets and winding alleyways. Lose yourself in the buzz of the markets, delight your senses in the bustling bazaars, and check out the many mosques and grand Arab residences.
Zanzibar is also home to an array of exciting rare animals, including the Zanzibar red colobus, and the elusive Zanzibar leopard. Others animals, such as bush-pigs, mongoose, and range of birdlife also inhabit the island, so why not pay a visit to the Jozani Forest and get exploring!

Diving Centre
The local divemasters have thousands of dives in the area, and will guide certified divers to the absolute best spots. Zanzibar is blessed with both green and hawksbill turtles, octopus hiding in every crack and crevice, morays hunting along the reef, marble rays and lots more. If you are really lucky you might even come face to face with dolphins!
If you have never tried diving before or you are interested in some of the more advanced courses, professional instructors will give you the best possible introduction to scuba diving or advance your current dive skills to new levels. This is a recognized PADI dive centre and offers most courses from introductory through divemaster and specialties.
