2-night stay in a Warm Room/Ice Room at the Icehotel - Jukkasjärvi

Icehotel is the world’s first hotel made of ice and snow in the Swedish village of Jukkasjärvi – 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. When the first snow has sprinkled the whole of Jukkasjärvi with white, artists from all over the world come together in the village to take part in creating re-carving and re-creating the Icehotel, born in a new guise each year.

Warm Room

The warm rooms, arranged in groups within a charming wooden chalet, are spacious and comfortable with a calm feel. Overlooking the birch trees outside, the rooms have two single beds.

Ice Room

The ice room has a classic design with a temperature of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius. The bed you sleep on has a thick mattress that rests on a wooden base. The bed is covered with reindeer hides, and you sleep in a thermal sleeping bag.

Please note: We reserve the right to change the order of accommodation at the ice hotel, i.e. 1st night cold and 2nd night warm.

The Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis, is a natural phenomenon that appears during special weather conditions in the Arctic region, and Jukkasjärvi is scientifically proven to be one of the best places in the world to catch a glimpse of it.

While you enjoy nature, the guide will prepare your dinner over an open fire while telling you about the myths and legends of the northern lights and what causes it to occur. Hopefully, you also get to see the northern lights dancing in the sky since autumn is said to be one of the best periods of the year to spot really intense Northern Lights. The tour is carried out by car and a short walk to the camp.

Northern Lights Safari on Snowmobile

Your Optional Excursions
Hunt the northern lights on a snowmobile. Take the snowmobile out in the wilderness where the northern lights are most visible and savour a dinner in a warm cabin.

A clear sky, darkness and patience are the best ingredients for hunting the northern lights. On this tour, you take a snowmobile out in the wilderness, where the northern lights are most visible, away from light pollution. An exciting adventure where you both get to drive a snowmobile and have a chance to see the northern lights.

You share a snowmobile, or drive your own, through the dark winter landscape, following your guide. The guide will frequently make short stops to tell you about the northern lights as a phenomenon, how it occurs, and for you to watch and have time to take your own pictures. Along the way you stop in a warm wilderness cabin where the guide serves a two-course dinner. The experience continues on the way back and the northern lights have hopefully danced for you before you return to Icehotel.

Welcome to Sweden

Stockholm

As one of Europe's most enchanting, well-designed and dynamic destinations, Stockholm is an ideal choice for a city break in every season. From the fashion, to the architecture, vibrant dining scene and wealth of ever-evolving museums, this 'Beauty on the Water' offers something for guests of every age and description.

Spread across 14 islands, and yet surprisingly compact, the city of Stockholm is interconnected via a series of 57 charming bridges, which allow guests to walk between attractions with ease. The highlights across Sweden's capital seem endless, but Gamla Stan remains a firm favourite - one of the best-preserved districts seen across Europe, from the cobblestone streets to the cosy shops and cafés, where handicrafts, souvenirs and tasty, local treats can be found.

In addition to the winding, historical streets, Stockholm also promises an array of fantastic museums, the most famous of which is possibly the Vasa Museum. As the home of the only preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world, ornately decorated with hundreds of carved sculptures despite the 333 years it spent underwater following its maiden voyage -  this is undoubtedly a must-see attraction when visiting Stockholm!

Jukkasjärvi

The classic winter activities on offer aim to immerse you in the amazing surrounding scenery, such as dog sledging, snowmobiling and fireside dinners in the wilderness. Aside from these thrilling activities, it's also worth paying a visit to Jukkasjärvi's Sámi church, parts of which date from 1608, making it the oldest surviving church in Lapland. Known locally as “Jukkas", this tiny village is a true Winter wonderland, most famed for its unique Icehotel.
