During your time in Stockholm, make sure to head out and explore the city! You can't head to Stockholm without enjoying a trip to Gamla Stan with its picture-perfect buildings and charming shops, cafés, restaurants and more. For ABBA fans there is a wonderful interactive museum, or for culture vultures there is the Vasa Museum. Other spots to check out are the City Hall, the Royal Palace and the Ericsson Globe. Another highlight would be the incredible artistic metro stations dotted around the city that definitely beat the London Underground.

Day 2: Arrival at Boxholm, Hotell Sommarhagen - stay in Superior Room (Driving time: approx. 2.5 hours)

Next up you will head to Hotell Sommarhagen. Here you will enjoy a gourmet dinner and introduction to the area as well as information regarding the glass house experience.

For your second day in Boxholm you will start the day with breakfast.

Enjoy a stunning hike through the countryside to the glasshouse which is located by the lake. This hike will usually take approximately 1 hour giving guests the chance to get close to nature, enjoy the fresh air and explore the enchanting natural surroundings. Enjoy lunch enroute with a lunch basket included for the walk along with a map. Then you can choose to spend an afternoon on the water using the complimentary canoes located at the glass house for an ideal way to view the area.

At the glass house, you will be completely on your own to enjoy nature and to simply be in the moment. All meals are included (lunch, dinner and breakfast) but will need to be self prepared in the glass house. Lunch for today will be in a basket, on the hike and dinner will be self prepared at the glass house.

There is also a barbeque at the Glasshouse, by the lake, and a Trangia kitchen set included in the equipment, providing guests with everything they need to create tasty meals. The hotel will go through all equipment and how to use it on arrival day. The food provided will all be local, sustainable ingredients with a recipe provided. After cooking, settle down for a very memorable night stay in the secluded glasshouse away from the hustle and bustle. Note: the number for the hotel is provided in case of emergencies.

Your Destination

Stockholm

As one of Europe's most enchanting, well-designed and dynamic destinations, Stockholm is an ideal choice for a city break in every season. From the fashion, to the architecture, vibrant dining scene and wealth of ever-evolving museums, this 'Beauty on the Water' offers something for guests of every age and description.

Spread across 14 islands, and yet surprisingly compact, the city of Stockholm is interconnected via a series of 57 charming bridges, which allow guests to walk between attractions with ease. The highlights across Sweden's capital seem endless, but Gamla Stan remains a firm favourite - one of the best-preserved districts seen across Europe, from the cobblestone streets to the cosy shops and cafés, where handicrafts, souvenirs and tasty, local treats can be found.

In addition to the winding, historical streets, Stockholm also promises an array of fantastic museums, the most famous of which is possibly the Vasa Museum. As the home of the only preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world, ornately decorated with hundreds of carved sculptures despite the 333 years it spent underwater following its maiden voyage -  this is undoubtedly a must-see attraction when visiting Stockholm!
