This three night itinerary combines some of the best activities offered in the region with a visit to the Abisko National Park, considered one of the finest places in the world for viewing the Aurora Borealis.
Your Itinerary —
Day 1
On arrival at Kiruna airport, you will be transferred to Hotel Ripan in Kiruna. Overnight at Hotel Ripan in Kiruna.
Northern Lights excursion
Owing to its unique microclimate, the skies are almost always cloud-free in the Abisko National Park thus creating the perfect environmental conditions for witnessing the Aurora Borealis. This evening you will be transferred to Bjorkliden on the edge of the National Park (c.1 hour 15 minute’s drive from Kiruna) where you will enjoy an evening meal.
After dinner, your journey will continue to the location determined to offer the greatest chance for sighting the colourful waves of the Northern Lights - The Abisko National Park, locally around Bjorkliden or even into Norway (if this will increase the chances of sighting this natural phenomenon).
Although we cannot guarantee a sighting, Abisko is considered one of the best places in the world to see the lights dance on the cosmic winds.
AM - Dog sled trap line tour
On the outskirts of Kiruna, a team of husky dogs wait to lead you on an adventure through Swedish Lapland. The dogs were born to run, it is their passion, and they want nothing more than to shareit with you. This four-hour excursion will, almost silently, traverse through forests and across frozen lakes. The only sound heard is the gentle pad of the dogs’ footsteps in the snow. Relax in the comfort of your seat or try your hand at mushing.
There is also an opportunity to explore the winter landscape on snow shoes – keep your eyes alert and you may spot tracks of reindeer, moose and Arctic hare along your route. A traditional meal is also included.
With the lofty peaks of the Abisko and Kebnekaise National Parks as your backdrop, feel the rush of adrenalin as you explore Kiruna’s landscape on the back of a snowmobile. Since time immemorial the Sami people have called Lapland their home. Your four-hour excursion will include a traditional meal as well as a visit to the Sámi village of Vuonajohkka, where you will learn about Sami culture and traditions.
Day 4
Transfer to Kiruna airport for your return flight to the UK.

All of these cabins include microwave oven, drying cupboard, cable TV, telephone, Internet and bathroom with shower and WC. You can park directly outside your door, where you will also find your ski box.

This offer is based on a bed & breakfast stay.
The fantastic produce, harvested locally, from the region is refined to delicious dishes by the Camp Ripan kitchen. The wine cellar is stocked with those wines that perfectly complement the flavours of the menu.
Your Time —
The indoor pool has panoramic windows, ideal for Northern Light spotting whatever the weather. Alternatively, take a dip in the world’s most northerly tempered outdoor pool.
