Day 1: Dambulla
Arrive in Colombo and meet your tour guide who will accompany you throughout your tour from day 1 to day 8.
Relax in the hotel or opt for a Jeep safari to Minneriya/ Kaudulla/ Hurulu Eco Park for the chance to see wild elephants.

Day 2: Dambulla
In the morning, climb the spectacular Lion Rock fortress at Sigiriya (at an extra cost), accompanied by an English-speaking guide, and discover this 8th wonder of the world.
Head to the Sigiriya village of Kimbissa and experience traditional village life on a scenic catamaran ride in the reservoir before strolling through the village and the local market gardens.

Day 3: Kandy
En route to Kandy, stop at the cave temple of Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where a series of elaborately adorned caves house an impressive collection of Buddha statues and intricate murals dating back centuries.
Then visit the Ayurvedic village of Matale, renowned for the quality of its spices and one of the largest Hindu temples with a monumental entrance tower in Sri Lanka.

Day 4: Kandy
Visit the verdant Udawattekele Forest which is home to around 400 plant species, including ferns, grasses and orchids.
In the afternoon, visit the Temple of the Tooth, believed to house the relic of the tooth of Lord Buddha, and surrounded by serene gardens.
Please note: It is advisable to wear modest clothing when visiting the Temple of the Tooth. Flowers can be purchased along the path leading to the temple. Proper attire is required for the visit. You are welcome to bring your own cameras. Shoes must be removed at the entrance to the temple and can be stored in a safe place.

- Later in the evening, attend the Kandy Cultural Show at around 4:30 pm

Day 5: Haputale
Cross the misty mountains covered with tea bushes and stop off at a tea plantation on the way to Haputale where you can see how pure Ceylon tea is made.
After, head out on on a train journey from Nanu Oya to Haputale and pass through picturesque hills and serene, unspoilt landscapes.

Day 6: Udawalawe
After breakfast, visit the elephant transit home in Udawalawe, a project that was established in 1995 to help care for abandoned baby elephants.
See them being fed for around 20 minutes at selected feeding times (9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm and 6 pm) before heading back to your hotel or visiting Udawalawe National Park (at an extra cost).

Day 7: Tissamaharama - Yala
Head out on a Jeep safari to the lush Yala National park, Sri Lanka's second-largest national park, where you will get the chance to try and spot elephants and leopards.

Day 8: Departure for the Beruwala stopover
Head to Beruwala, a coastal town renowned for its picturesque beaches, vibrant fishing harbour and historic Ketchchimalai Mosque, and spend your last few days relaxing and unwinding.
