Your Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1: Waikkal
Arrive at the Bandaranayke International Airport. After the finishing immigration formalities, collect your luggage and then, a H.O.T Destination Management representative will meet you outside with a sign board. They will assist you further as you wait for your transportation.
Transfer to your hotel in Waikkal/Negombo.
Check in at the hotel & relax. Overnight stay at the hotel in Negombo.
DAY 2: ANURADHAPURA
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before taking your transfer to Anuradhapura. On the way, you'll visit a Hindu Temple.
The temple known as Replica of Kataragama is dedicated to Lord Murugan and was opened in January 2012, also known as the Punchi Kataragama.
Jeep safari to Wilpattu National Park:
Wilpattu is one of the oldest national parks in Sri Lanka. The park lies within the north-central and northwestern providences, in Sri Lanka's lowland dry zone. Elephants, leopards, sloths, water buffalo and spotted deer are among the large mammals that have made the park their home.
Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Jaffna
After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Visit Sri Maha Bodhi, the sacred tree under which Buddha attained Enlightenment, and the Buddhist temple Isurumuniya with its special carvings.
Optional: 1 - 2 hour visit of Anuradhapura main site (see 'optional excursions' for details)
Train ride to Anuradhapura to Jaffna
The train journey and ticket class will be subject to availability.
Travelling by train in Sri Lanka is a unique experience: the railway track stretches across from the coast to the hillside, and this train is popular with pilgrims on their way to the Anuradhapura Temple.

DAY 4: JAFFNA

Nagadeepa:
Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya is one of the sixteen holiest Buddhist shrines in Sri Lanka, and has been a site of pilgrimage since the 1st century.
The site is known as the place where Lord Buddha came during his second visit to Sri Lanka, after five years of attaining Enlightenment, to intervene and mediate in settling a dispute between two Naga Kings over the possession of a gem-studded throne.
The precious throne was offered to the lord Buddha, was returned to the Naga Kings and was later enshrined in this Rajayathanastupa.
City tour in Jaffna
Crab Cookery Lesson:
Learn how to prepare a crab curry for dinner. The crab itself should be perfectly cooked in a rich Jaffna curry with just the right balance of spices.
Day 5: Trincomalee
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and take your transfer to Trincomalee.
Relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Trincomalee beach hotel.
DAY 6: TRINCOMALEE
After breakfast, relax at the beach.
Optional - Boat ride to Pigeon Island with snorkelling
This three-hour adventure gives you an amazing opportunity to get a clear view of the marine life living in the shallow waters just off Nilaveli. Observe colourful corals and darting shoals of silvery fish.
Renowned as a snorkeller’s paradise in Sri Lanka, Pigeon Island is one of the country's two maritime national parks. Home to coral reefs and shimmering fish of every kind, Pigeon Island is a stunning place to be.
Day 9: Kandy
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and take your transfer to Kandy.
On the way, visit an Ayurvedic Village. Sri Lanka was an important stop in the spice trade, with the first recording of cinnamon and cassia in the Middle East noted at least 4,000 years ago.
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic:
The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, or Dalada Maligawa, is a significant architectural monument not just in Kandy, but in the whole of Sri Lanka. It houses the most important Buddhist relic - a tooth of the Buddha, brought to Kandy by King Wimaladharmasuriya I.
Kandy city tour and shopping:
Set amid verdant hills, with the Mahaweli River weaving through, Kandy is certainly the most picturesque city on the island, and the most visited. Still retaining much of its old-world charm and traditions, the centrepiece is the magnificent Kandy Lake.
Join your guide and continue the rest of the tour. Visit a Batik and Wood carving centre. Get an insight to local craft and arts, and finely cut gems.
Later on in the evening, watch Kandyan dancers perform in a cultural show. The show lasts for almost an hour, and several dances are performed, representing more modern influences in Sri Lankan culture today.

DAY 10: HAPUTALE
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Haputale.

Enjoy a train ride from Nanu Oya to Haputhale
Note: Please be aware that train travel is in a simple local train and may be less comfortable than you are used to. The day of the train and/or route is subject to change if the tour company hears that the train is crowded and/or delayed.
The train journey will be confirmed subject to availability. The seat class will depend on availability. The duration is approx. 3 hours.

Day 11: Udawalawe
Early morning checkout from the hotel and transfer to Udawalawe.
Early morning with transfer to Lipton seat by tuk-tuk (with packed breakfast)
Walk to visit Lipton’s Seat, a famous viewpoint in the Badulla district and popular visiting place close to Haputale. Lipton Seat is an observation point, from which you can see at least seven districts. Arriving at Lipton's Seat before 10am for the best view is recommended.
Optional – Udawalawe National Park
The sixth-largest animal sanctuary of Sri Lanka is located 180 km from Colombo in south-central sector of the island. This park is home to several hundred elephants and other rare plants and wildlife. The park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir.
Overnight stay in Udawalawe.
DAY 12: BEACH
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and transfer to the selected Beach Hotel.

Visit to Anuradhapura
As part of the cultural discoveries in Sri Lanka, don't miss visiting archaeological sites like Anuradhapura. This remarkable site offers a wonderful journey back in time to the fifth century BC.
Anuradhapura was the first capital of Sri Lanka, founded in 5 B.C. according to the early Sinhalese chronicle Mahavansa, and was a pre-eminent example of hydraulic civilisation. The construction of reservoirs, canals and irrigation channels at this time demonstrates an astonishing knowledge of trigonometry and the design of reservoirs a thorough understanding of hydraulic principles. Anuradhapura is furthermore dotted with picturesque stupas and lakes that have an irresistible attraction for visitors.
The programme takes 1-2 hours.
Sigiriya Rock Fortress
The Lion Rock at Sigiriya is a large stone and ancient rock fort surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, cisterns and other structures. Sigiriya, a popular tourist destination, is also known for its ancient paintings (frescoes) reminiscent of the Ajanta caves in India.
Minneriya National Park Safari
These national parks in Habarana are the best places in the region to see wild elephants, which are often present in huge numbers.
Good to know: Elephants move between national parks. So choose the best park to see the most elephants.
Udawalawe National Park Safari
Sinharaja has the characteristics of a tropical rainforest. It is the only significant rainforest on the island. The climate is balanced, with some rain in all seasons. Most of the native birds and plants can be seen in Sinharaja.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Sinharaja Rainforest is the last remaining rainforest in Sri Lanka. It is home to most (nearly 95%) of Sri Lanka's native birds, giant butterflies and over 50% of Sri Lanka's native mammals.
This lowland forest is considered one of the best birding areas in Sri Lanka: 22 of Sri Lanka's 26 endemic bird species have been seen here. Even the most inexperienced birders can spot 10-15 species.
