Your Itinerary —
During their tour, our members will follow the itinerary as seen below.
Upon your arrival at Bandaranayake International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a tour representative. After the formalities at the airport, you will be escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle and thereafter, you will be proceeding to Udawalawa (approx travel time from Airport to Udawalawa - 04 to 05 hours drive). Upon your arrival at the hotel, check-in and relax before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Grand Udawalawa 4* or Similar.
Day 2: Udawalawa - Nuwara Eliya
After an early breakfast at the hotel, proceed to visit Udawalawa National Park for an exciting jeep safari (approx travel time from Hotel - 15 to 20 minutes drive). Is located approximately 200 km south-east of Colombo city and is a major ecotourism destination in Sri Lanka. The 30,821 hectares dry zone game park has an annual rainfall of 1524 mm and an average temperature of 29.4°C. It is most famous for the many elephants that live there (about 400 in total). During a visit, it is not unusual to see whole herds of adults and young elephants feeding or bathing and playing in the water! In addition to this main attraction, the park is home to many water buffalo, water monitor lizards, sambar deer, monkeys and the occasional leopard, as well as being an exciting location for bird enthusiasts.
Upon completion return to the hotel and check out. Then, proceed to Nuwara Eliya (approx travel time from Udawalawa to Hatton - 04 to 05 Hours drive). Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, check in to the hotel and relax. Set in the heart of tea-country is a beautiful town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh – a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life - welcome to Nuwara Eliya.

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Kandy, En-route visit Ramboda waterfalls & Royal Botanical Garden Ramboda Falls is 109 m (358 ft) high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya. Altitude of the falls is 945 m (3,100 ft) above sea level. Upon completion proceed to Peradeniya. The Royal Botanical Gardens at ‘Peradeniya’ is where you could treat your eyes to an amazing, wide and rare collection of tropical and temperate, exotic and indigenous flora, and an orchid house with the largest collection in Asia. On completion continue your journey to Kandy.
On completion, continue your journey to Kandy (approx travel time from Peradeniya to Kandy - 15 to 20 minutes drive). Kandy, perhaps is Sri Lanka’s most beautiful town. Set 488 metres above sea level, Kandy is Sri Lanka’s most visited place after Colombo. The focal point of the town is the golden-roofed ‘Dalada Maligawa’, where the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha is enshrined. There are numerous shrines and temples in and around Kandy, where you will see rare paintings, frescoes, and stone carvings. Upon arrival check in to the hotel and relax.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Cinnamon Citadel Kandy or Similar.
Today after breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Habarana. En-route visit Temple of Tooth Relic, Matale spice garden and Sigiriya Rock Fortress (approx travel time from Hotel to Kandy Temple - 20 to 30 minutes drive). Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. It is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site partly due to the temple.
On completion visit the spice garden in Matale (approx travel time from Kandy to Matale - 01 to 02 hours drive). Matale is famous for its spice gardens. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka's celebrated exports. Spices are mostly grown in home gardens (as a home industry) and used not only to flavour food but also for medicine and cosmetics.
Then, proceed to visit Sigiriya Lion Rock in the late afternoon (approx travel time from Matale to Sigiriya - 01 to 02 Hours drive). Proceed to climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is known as the 8th wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered a pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare, was the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya 5th century water gardens to their former glory. Sigiriya Rock Fortress where you could climb 1200 steps and admire the fabulous frescoes on the walls of the ancient rock fortress. This is not recommended for clients with Vertigo & walking difficulties. On completion check in to the hotel and relax (approx travel time from Sigiriya to Habarana - 20 to 30 minutes drive).
Dinner and overnight stay at the Habarana Village by Cinnamon or Similar.
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Passikudah. En-route visit Dambulla Cave Temple (approx travel time from Habarana to Dambulla - 20 to 40 minutes drive). The Dambulla Cave Temple is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that king Valagambahu took refuge in the 01st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceiling found here are over 2000 years old and is the largest area of painting found in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters. Dambulla is a massive rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla of 600 feet high which includes climbing of steps as well as walking on the plain boulder. *Not recommended for clients with Walking difficulties. On completion proceed to Passikudah for your most awaited beach stay (approx travel time from Dambulla to Passikudah - 2 ½ to 03 hours drive).
Passikudah is a coastal resort town located about 35 kilometres northwest of Batticaloa. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and relax by the beach or pool.

Today after breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Colombo, En-route visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (approx travel time from Passikudah to Polonnaruwa - 01 to 1 ½ hours drive). The architect of this lovely city is known to be King Parakrama Bahu - The Great. The remains of the Royal Citadel council chamber, prince’s bathing pool and the Gal Vihara, a stone temple with its colossal sculptures of the Buddha in a quiet grove of trees as well as the still functioning Parakrama Samudra, a man-made reservoir, larger than our Colombo harbor, are on easy distance from each other. The new museum has an excellent scale model of the ancient city as it was. Upon completion continue your journey to Colombo (approx travel time from Polonnaruwa to Colombo- 05 to 6 hours drive).
Dinner and overnight stay at the Trillium Colombo or Similar.
Day 9, 11 or 13: Departure
After breakfast, as per your flight details you will be picked up and transferred to Colombo International Airport to catch your flight back home accompanied with all the happy memories of the tropical isle (approx travel time from Colombo to Airport 01 to 1 ½ hours drive).
