Day 1: Arrival in Colombo
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a representative and escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle for a transfer to your hotel. Upon arrival, check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 2: Colombo - Anuradhapura - Dambulla
After breakfast at the hotel do a short sightseeing tour in Colombo and then proceed to Anuradhapura. Colombo, Sri Lanka‘s bustling commercial hub, is located on the country’s west coast and with a population of between 800,000 and one million is by far most developed. Its natural harbour at the mouth of the Kelani River was a magnet for successive traders and conquerors – initially the Arab merchants, then Portuguese, Dutch and British imperialists. Originally named Kolomthota, Colombo was the main seaport of Kotte, the country’s 15th and 16th century capital. The Fort is still a focal point of government and commercial activity and Pettah has become a district of small shops, markets, and sidewalk stalls, with all the characteristic features of an Oriental bazaar. Thereafter continue your journey to visit the ancient city of Anuradhapura (Approx Travel Time from Negombo to Anuradhapura – 03 to 04 hours’ drive).

Visit the ruins of the first capital founded in the 05th century BC. Here is found the largest number of ancient monuments of a great civilization. Buddhism found its first real home in Sri Lanka at Anuradhapura, and it thus contains some of Sri Lankan Buddhism’s most secret sights. The “Sri Maha Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura, planted from a cutting from the original “Bo Tree” under which the Buddha received enlightenment, continue to draw thousands of Buddhist pilgrims from around the world. The pillars of the brazen palace which once had nine stories, the image of the Samadhi Buddha which is one of the finest pieces of Buddhists sculpture, the twin ponds, guard-stones and the moon-stones are amazing remains of a great civilization. There are also monuments such as Ruwanveli Seya Dageba with its famous elephant wall from the 2nd Century B.C. and the Thuparama Dageba from the 3rd Century B.C. On completion proceed to hotel, check in and relax (Approx. Travel Time from Anuradhapura to Dambulla –1½ to 02 hours’ drive).

Located in the Matale District, Central Province, Dambulla is famous because it houses the Dambulla Cave Temple – the largest, best-preserved, cave-temple complex in the country. Also known as Golden Rock Temple, this World Heritage Site comprises of a cave monastery and five sanctuaries. Overnight stay in Dambulla.
Day 3: Dambulla - Minneriya - Hiriwadunna - Dambulla
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Hiriwadunna Village for an authentic Sri Lankan experience (Approx Travel Time from Dambulla to Hiriwadunna - 15 to 20 Minutes’ drive). You will drive to a village that lies lain around a reservoir located off the main Habarana road - Hiriwadunna. This is a typical countryside experience with bullock cart rides and rural vegetable cultivation. You'll be departing early from the hotel to begin a beautiful walk over village paths, a tank bund and forest. A ride on a bullock cart along a dirt track and through rice paddies down to the picturesque Hiriwadunna Lake will leave you with a sense of peacefulness. A catamaran ride on the lake with its large variety of dry zone bird life and views of the surrounding forest, marshland and vegetable plots of local farmers, will be an unforgettable experience for visitors and will most definitely be one of the places they feel most at peace, during the time spent in Sri Lanka. You will also indulge in an authentic village type lunch prepared by our host.

Thereafter proceed to visit Minneriya National Park with an amazing Jeep safari experience (Approx Travel Time from Hiriwadunna to Minneriya – 20 - 30 Minutes’ drive). Minneriya is yet another haven for the elephants that migrate from surrounding jungles to enjoy the lush grass fields on the banks of the Minneriya reservoir, during the dry season. Reports of elephant sightings range from an impressive 100 to 200. The central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 3rd century AD by King Mahasena). This tank is generally known as a place to observe the elephants that come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds that come to fish in the shallow waters. **Depending on the movement of the elephant herds of the particular day the chauffeur will decide the best park to visit among Minneriya, Kaudulla and Eco Park. On completion return to hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Dambulla.
Day 4: Dambulla - Matale - Kandy
Today after breakfast you will be visiting one of the most fascinating and significant sights located in the cultural triangle which is Dambulla Golden Cave Temple (Approx. Travel Time from hotel – 20 to 30 Minutes’ drive). The beautiful Royal Rock Temple complex sits about 160m above the road in the southern part of Dambulla. Five separate caves contain about 150 absolutely stunning Buddha statues and paintings, some of Sri Lanka's most important and evocative religious art. Buddha images were first created here over 2000 years ago, and over the centuries subsequent kings added to and embellished the cave art. From the caves there are superb views over the surrounding countryside. Dambulla is a massive rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla of 600 feet high which includes climbing of steps as well as walking on the plain boulder. *Not recommended for clients with walking difficulties.

Thereafter visit Matale spice garden and proceed to Kandy (Approx. Travel Time from Dambulla to Matale - 01 to 1½ Hours’ drive). Sri Lanka has always been renowned for its spices. Over 15 different spices call Sri Lanka home and many of them are traded in the international spice market. Cinnamon especially is endemic to Sri Lanka, and highest quality ‘true cinnamon’ can be obtained here. Between Matale and Dambulla is famous for its spice gardens, with over 30 dotted along the road. All offer free tours of their gardens with an English-speaking guide who can explain the merits and health properties of herbs, spices and plants including cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, coffee, nutmeg, pepper, cardamom, aloe vera, iriweriya and the henna plant.

Thereafter continue your journey to Kandy and visit Temple of the tooth relic (Approx Travel Time from Matale to Kandy - 01 to 1½ Hours’ drive). Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (A World Heritage Site) witness special ‘Tevava’ would mean a service ritual conducted daily at regular times of the day in the morning, noon and evening at Temple of the Tooth Relic. In the crown jewel of the city, Kandy is the famed Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Tooth. The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha. The entire complex is over three centuries old at least, and has seen many a king’s rise and fall. It has seen bloody wars and peaceful reigns and is one of the most historical places still standing in the island. The entire temple complex, from peaked tiled roofs to white walls with large airy windows, is built using classical Kandyan architecture. Tevava Times: 5.30 a.m. - 7.00 a.m, 9.30 a.m - 11.00 a.m, 6.30 p.m. - 8.00 p.m. Check in to hotel on completion and relax. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 5: Kandy - Colombo - Bentota
After breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed to Bentota for your most awaited beach stay (Approx Travel Time from Kandy to Bentota – 05 to 06 Hours’ drive). Located on Bentota peninsula Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa Sri Lanka enjoys a superb location with the Bentota River on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other, ensuring dreamy views from most areas of the resort, and offering a natural environment along with a wide range of facilities and activities. The resort is accessed by a short boat ride across the lagoon from a departure point a few minutes to Aluthgama station, and river and ocean boat trips are a major attraction.Start creating your list of holiday experiences in anticipation to discover a destination abundant in activities, scenic landscapes and natural wonders. A newly assigned team of Hygiene and Quality Managers have been tasked with the implementation and monitoring of the comprehensive 12-pronged action plan which follows guidelines set by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and local health authorities in the six countries we are present.

Social Distancing
Appropriate spacing will be maintained to avoid close gatherings between guests, and between staff and guests. This includes the reconfiguration of seating in public areas and the delivery of in-room dining and luggage to guest room doors only.

Health and hygiene practises
The temperature of all staff, visitors and guests arriving at the hotel via all entrances and entering the spa, will be checked. Face masks will be worn by all service staff, and sanitising hand gel dispensers will be made readily available.

Enhanced sanitisation
The enhanced cleaning protocols will include the increased sanitation frequency of all public areas, including washrooms, lifts, and other high-touch point areas. All cleaning agents are EPA-approved and a hi-tech electrostatic disinfection spray ensures guest rooms, corridors, restaurants, and other areas are sanitised regularly.

Check-in and out
All front desk staff will sit at least 1.5 metres apart, and wherever possible, privacy screens will be installed. The registration process includes health check forms, and cashless payment options will be offered.

Rooms
Housekeeping staff, wearing protective face masks and disposable plastic gloves, will ventilate and clean rooms when guests have vacated the space, paying particular attention to high-touch points such as remote controls and door handles. All drinking glasses will be sanitised with a cleaning machine. Sanitising gel and disposable face masks will be placed in the room or available on request.

Dining
In order to respect social distancing, seating in restaurants will be reduced and re-arranged. All tabletop items will be sanitised between each sitting. Self-service will be restricted; instead, buffet offerings at the restaurant and Club Lounge will be served at the table.

Fitness and pool
Chlorine levels at the pool will be periodically monitored for maximum efficacy. Sun loungers and fitness equipment will be rearranged and spaced at least 1.5 metres apart. Sports and fitness centre equipment, as well as sun loungers, will be sanitised after every use.

Spa
Only single guest spa treatments will be permitted, with steams, saunas and Hammams off limits for the time being. Treatment rooms and all equipment are carefully sanitised after each session.

Kid's Club
Playroom staff will be thoroughly trained to follow enhanced cleaning protocols, with toys and equipment sanitised every 15 minutes. Ball pits and other high-touch amenities in the Kids’ Club will be removed.

Events
Seating arrangements will be made to respect safe distancing, and after every event, meeting rooms will be sprayed with specialised electrostatic disinfection solution, using cutting-edge technology to sanitise all surfaces. All event attendees will be required to wear face masks.

Training and personnel
All staff will be trained in Centara’s updated cleaning and sanitisation protocols. The same vigorous standards will apply to back of house and any other third-party concessionaries such as the tour desk. Hotel staff teams will also be re-organised to minimise cross-contamination.

Accreditation and monitoring
