Your Tour & Cruise Itinerary —
Day 1: Airport - Sigiriya
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your driver, before being transferred to your hotel in Sigiriya. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure. You will have the chance of having a massage in an Ayurvedic centre (payable locally). Dinner & Overnight stay at your hotel.
After breakfast, you will leave in a tuk-tuk followed by taking bullock carts through the countryside. Thereafter you will take a boat ride on Habarana Lake in a traditional fishing boat. You will then visit a plantation before going to a village house where you will be given a demonstration of local cuisine.
In the afternoon, you shall drive to Sigiriya where you will visit the famous Lion Rock. Founded in the fifth century, this monolithic rock is surrounded by a vast forest which covers the staircase located between the feet of the lion and leads to the ruins of the fortress. From the fortress, it is possible to admire the world-famous frescoes of the "Ladies of Sigiriya", an unforgettable moment of your trip. In the late afternoon, return to the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at your hotel.
After breakfast, you will transfer to Dambulla - a hub which has been treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C. Today, an icon in the face of Sri Lanka Dambulla Rock Temple houses some of the most unique drawings in magnificently constructed five cave temples flanking the golden temple of Dambulla. The walls of the first are covered with gold leaf, which earned the name "the golden rock". In these five "caves" are hundreds of Buddha statues, as well as frescoes, which cover about 1,800 square metres, depicting effigies or episodes of Buddha's life.
You will then continue to Matale, the gateway to the old capital of Kandy, and visit a spice garden. Long before tea, Sri Lanka was famous for its spices and especially for its cinnamon trees that gave its name to one of Colombo's beautiful neighborhoods: the Cinnamon Gardens. Resume your journey and arrive in Kandy in the afternoon. At the end of the day, you will attend a Kandyan traditional dance show. Dinner & overnight stay at your hotel.
After breakfast, you will visit Kandy the hill capital of Sri Lanka. Kandy was the last royal capital of the country until 1815 and its attachment to the British crown. Today, it is the cultural and spiritual core of Sri Lanka and was registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988.
Visit Dalada Maligawa, also known as Temple of the Tooth. This is most famous site to visit in Kandy because of the tooth relic of Buddha that is housed within. Every day, hundreds of Buddhist pilgrims come to worship this precious relic. During the daily ritual of worship, you will be fascinated by the intense fervour of pilgrims laden with fragrant flowers and various offerings.
Thereafter, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, in the suburbs of Kandy. These gardens are the largest in Sri Lanka and surely among the most beautiful in the world. Walk into these 147-acre bliss gardens, passing well-tended lawns, pavilions & an octagon conservatory. You will be greeted by a vast expanse of a magnificently landscaped lush green and hundreds of species of flowers including more than 300 varieties of orchids and a majestic fig tree whose branches extend over about 2500 m². In late afternoon visit a gem lapidary. Dinner & overnight stay at your hotel.
After breakfast, proceed to Nuwara Eliya and its expanses of tea plantations as far as the eye can see. Your journey will journey will take you through sumptuous mountain landscapes, misty steep roads and twisting through lush green blankets of tea bushes. Visit a tea plantation and a factory where you will be explained the different processes of making tea. Despite a limited surface area, Sri Lanka is now among the top 3 tea producers of tea exports behind China and India.
Nuwara Eliya is the former British governor's summer residence, located at 1900 metres above sea level. Upon arrival, you will be astonished how the city seems to remind you of England, with its Victorian villas, rose gardens, pristine lawns, golf course and especially its cool and misty climate. You will proceed with a city tour of Nuwara Eliya and thereafter proceed to Udawalawe via Bandarawela with a stop at Ravana Falls. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
In the early morning, visit Udawalawe National Park. This National Park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River. The reserve covers 30,821 hectares of land area and was established on 30 June 1972. Before the designation of the National Park, the area was used for shifting cultivation (chena farming). The farmers were gradually removed once the National Park was declared. Udawalawe is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan elephants. It is a popular tourist destination and the third most visited park in the country. After a safari in Udawalawe, proceed to Yala via Tissamaharama.
Herds of spotted deer are seen all over the park. Both the pinkish rhesus monkeys and the grey-faced Langur monkey, live and play on the treetops and the ground below. Wild buffalo & wild boar could give a good surprise & the sight of a leopard sunning itself or drinking water at a waterhole could be a memorable experience. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds at Yala. The painted stork, many varieties of heron, the spoonbill, the bee-eater, parakeets, and kingfisher & woodpecker are some of the birds can be seen in the park. After the safari, you will return to the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will visit the area of Tissamaharama. Thereafter, transfer towards the south coast to Tangalle where the sea arises at the bend of the last mountains. You will take the road along the coast and then depart towards Mirissa.
At approximately 4 pm, depart from Mirissa Harbour to enjoy a stunning sunset aperitif. Anchor in a sheltered and secluded spot, in the beautiful Weligama Bay. Dinner on board served under the stars.
Set sail before dawn for a chance to whale watch. You will peacefully sail until you reach these magnificent cetaceans as they emerge from the water. You will then feast on a cooked hot breakfast with fresh tropical fruits and exquisitely blended local Ceylon tea or coffee. At noon, the yacht will arrive in the historic Bay of Galle where lunch will be served on board.
In the afternoon, you will visit the beautifully restored and lively Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the old Dutch Port built around the fort, dating from the sixteenth century and overlooking the sea. Having come to trade in the spices of the island, the Europeans have left a legacy, the most remarkable of which is Galle. With a magnificent natural harbour at the southern tip, which keeps intact the ramparts, and dwellings built by the Dutch in the 17th century, you will fall in love with this intriguing city. Dinner will be served on board, at the foot of the serene Peace Pagoda.
After an invigorating breakfast, you will have the chance to take part in some water sports! You will then continue to sail onto Weligama. Swim, snorkel, sunbathe or stand up paddle board before lunch. Following lunch on board, you will disembark at Mirissa harbour and transfer to Negombo. Dinner & overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 10: Negombo - Departure

This historical procession is held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, which is housed at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.
