A wide range of cultural activities and historical sites can be found in Lisbon, including the 16th century Casa dos Bicos, the church and monastery of São Vicente de Fora, Avenida de Liberdade, and the Church of Carmo and Elevador de Santa Justa. The National Museum of Ancient Art in Lisbon is considered to be among one of the most important art museums in Europe. Works in the museum span a period from the 12th to 19th centuries, and are as remarkable in their creativity as they are in their record of time. Altogether, the collection reflects the history, culture and role played by Portugal in the world during those eight centuries.
Castelo de São Jorge towers dramatically above Lisbon, its hilltop fortifications sneaking into almost every snapshot. These smooth cobbles have seen it all – Visigoths in the 5th century, Moors in the 9th century, Christians in the 12th century and royals from the 14th to 16th centuries. Step in to this historical metropolis!

Portuguese cuisine is known for its rich, full-flavoured and filling dishes, and is similar to what you would expect from Mediterranean cuisine. Fresh seafood is plentiful and very popular here. Since soup is considered to be a main dish, there are various typical Portuguese soups available throughout the city. Sopa de marisco (seafood soup), caldo verde (green soup made with finely shredded green kale leaves in broth) and bacalhau (dried cod soup) are the most common. Unwind at the end of your day at the Solar Do Castelo 4*'s Honour Bar, which serves a range of drinks and snacks.
Please note: some dining outlets/menu items and premium, branded and international drinks may not be included and may incur a surcharge payable locally. Meals, snacks and drinks may be available at selected times only.

The 25th of April Bridge whose name derives from the revolution held on 25th April 1974, meanwhile is fantastic to fly over, as it is the first suspension bridge to cross the Tagus.
