Your Destination —
More than just a destination for sun and sea, Madeira is an island steeped in culture and tradition with a host of museums and galleries right in the heart of Funchal. However, Madeira also embraces the future and has become quite contemporary in many areas, not just in the more recent hotels, restaurants and bars, but also in modern art and most noticeably at the Centre of Art - Casa das Mudas. The contrast and diversity of the island and its shores provide a host of activities for you to enjoy whether on land or sea.
Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrive in Madeira & drive to your hotel in Santo da Serra (approx. travel time: 20 minutes). Overnight in the Santo da Serra area.
Day 2: Spend the day exploring the eastern side of the island, we suggest walking through Levada da Serra do Faial which is famous for its impressive forests. Overnight in the Santo da Serra area.
Day 3: Drive towards the north side of the Island & your second hotel (approx. travel time: 1 hour 20 minutes). En route you will find gems such as Santana which is known for its fairytale architecture and Sao Vicente Caves. You should also stop at Pico Ruivo & climb to the summit of Madeira's highest mountain...you won't find a better view! Overnight in the Porto Moniz area.
Day 4: Relax in the natural pools of Porto Moniz and drink in impressive sea views while you do so...your hotel is just 10 minutes away by foot! Overnight in the Porto Moniz area.
Day 5: Drive down to Madeira's Southern coast and work on your tan at Calheta beach (approx. travel time: 1 hour). Head back inland to Rabacal, an enchanting forest which is known for its breathtaking waterfalls, Levada's 25 fountains. Afterwards, continue to your hotel (approx. travel time: 50 minutes). Overnight in Funchal).
Day 6: Spend today walking along the Cabo Girao, a lofty sea cliff & popular lookout point, then explore the island's capital, Funchal.
Day 7: Spend the day in Funchal, we suggest that you visit the fruit market and any trip to Funchal would not be complete without a trip to the Botanical Gardens.

Spend some time in a thoroughly modern hotel with beautiful views. Guests can unwind after a day of exploration in the hotel's pool or Jacuzzi or they can head just 10 minutes down the road and bathe in the purifying waters of Porto Moritz.
3 Nights at Quintas das Vistas
Stay in a prominent manor house superbly positioned on the brow of a hill with fabulous panoramic views over the mountains, the ocean and Funchal's city centre.
