Your Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1: Tromsø
Arrival at Tromso airport. Head to your hotel in the city centre.
Night at the Scandic Grand Tromsø hotel (or similar).
DAY 2: TROMSO
Optional boat trip (extra charge): Tromsø Fjord and Wildlife Safari (5-6 hours)
The fjord cruise in Tromsø will show you some of the highlights that the area has to offer. Spot wildlife both above and below water. Explore a fjord with a surprising remnant from the war. Step ashore at an old fishing facility to learn about the industry that is the lifeline of many Norwegian coastal towns, forming the culture of Northern Norway.
Night at the Scandic Grand Tromsø hotel (or similar).
Day 3: Tromsø to Alta
Leave around 9 am and take the bus towards Alta. Arrive at your destination around 4:45 pm, before being transferred to Sorrisniva.
In the evening, you'll enjoy a 'Northern Lights hunting' excursion to try and admire this bewitching natural phenomenon! With your guide, look for the best places to see the Northern Lights, for your chance to see the greatest natural light show on earth.
Explore the area and ask your guide for tips on capturing the best shots of the glimmering lights, should you be lucky enough to see them!
Please note: this excursion may be cancelled in the event of harsh weather conditions. It is not suitable for children under 10 years old due to the low temperatures.
In the evening, tuck into a three-course dinner (excluding drinks) included at the hotel.
Night at the Sorrisniva Alta Ice Hotel (or similar).
Day 4: Alta
Embark on a snowmobile safari through the wilderness of the Alta river valley. Let yourself be charmed by the beauty of the landscapes and the unspoiled nature of the Far North!
Note: Driving licence required, must be presented once there. This excursion is not suitable for children under 7 years old for safety reasons. 1 snowmobile for 2 people.
In the evening, you will enjoy a five-course dinner (excluding drinks) at Maku Restaurant.
Overnight at Sorrisniva Arctic Wilderness Lodge (or similar)
DAY 5: ALTA - TROMSO
Transfer from your hotel in Sorrisniva to Alta. Take the bus at around 9 am in the direction of Tromso. Arrive in Tromso around 4:45 pm so that you can reach your hotel (on your own).
Night at Scandic Grand Tromsø hotel (or similar).
DAY 6: TROMSO (DEPARTURE)
Set off for Tromso airport (on your own) to catch your flight back to the UK.
