Midnight Sun Sailing/Midnight Sunset Sailing (stays from 1st June to 15th August)

The Arctic is a magical place during the time of the “Midnight Sun” which happens from May-July. During this time, the abundance of sunlight creates powerful, golden moments allowing nature & wildlife to thrive. Time gets lost and inspiration sores fostering an environment to create these special memories throughout the entire day.

When this far in the Arctic the midnight sun is a must. There is no better way than a magical fjord cruise. With a maximum capacity of 12, this tour provides a personalised and intimate environment for guests who want to go sailing.

On this sailing experience, you can expect sailing on a comfortable catamaran and to learn about Arctic marine wildlife - the sea around Tromsø is thriving with fish, birds, eagles, seals and other wild animals. This will be an unforgettable experience. This tour is about 3 hours and runs from 1 June 2019 to 15 August 2019. It is recommended to bring warm clothes & sunglasses.

Arctic Fjord Sailing (stays from 16th August to 15th September)

The fjords in the Arctic are alive with activity and cruising the Arctic fjords is a breath-taking experience that one should experience once in their lifetime. In the summer, an abundance of marine life gathers far into the fjords to feed and soak up the infinite sunlight. This is an epic day out at sea for those wanting to witness memorable views, while spotting wildlife in their natural habitat.

The skippers and guides have great knowledge and a lot of experience to keep you safe and comfortable during your cruise.

Whilst on this Arctic sailing safari in Tromsø, you will be able to uncover these natural beauties while learning about the Arctic marine wildlife as well as enjoying a fresh catch which will be served for lunch. This tour runs from 1st June 2019 to 14th September 2019 and we recommend you bring warm clothes & sun glasses.

Explore Tromsø by E-bike with guide

Scandic Oslo City Hotel 4*
Take a fantastic guided 3-hour tour around Tromsø on an e-bike which includes helmet and snack for the duration. This excursion is available in June, July, August and September. The E-bike tour is suitable for everyone who can ride a bicycle, it’s very easy. We do recommend a minimum height of 150cm, so this may not suitable for young children.

Some of the highlights on the tour are:
- MS Polstjarna, Norways best-preserved sealing vessel (no entrance to the exhibit
- Bukta – Tromsø’s most beautiful sandy beach
- Holt Farm – the only farm on the island of Tromsø

Midnight Sun Hike & Sami Culture

Scandic Oslo City Hotel 4*
This Midnight Sun Hike and Sami Culture tour is a must for all visitors to Tromso. This tour includes an introduction to the Coastal Sami culture through stories and seeing interesting sights on our mountain hike to look for the Midnight Sun shining over the Lyngen Alps.

Not far away from Tromsø in a hidden fjord, you will find an Arctic paradise that remains largely untouched. This is where we offer you Tromsø’s best-kept secret, consisting of the best North Norwegian hospitality and warmth at the end of the road, where the scenery is at its most spectacular.

Start with a scenic drive between fjords and mountains. On arrival, at the start of the hike, you will have a briefing as well as an introduction into the Sea Sami history of the area. You will then head off on a long hike towards the mountain pass, giving you a superb view of some of the highest peaks in Northern Norway, the Lyngen Alps, bathing in the golden glow from the Midnight Sun.


This is a medium level hike, but you sure will be rewarded for your effort. You will stop during the walk to investigate interesting and unique Sami sites, enjoy the scenery, take photos and learn more about our magical place and the Arctic environment. During a longer break, we serve hot drinks and snacks.

Approximate schedule: 21.00 (9pm) depart Tromsø, 22.00 (10pm) arrive at starting point for the walk 22-22.30 (10 - 10.30pm) Short hike to the old Sami Camp, 23.00 (11pm): Longer hike to mountain pass for view of Lyngen Alps, 01.00 (am) Return from hike and depart for Tromsø, 02.00 (am) Arrive back in Tromsø. Please note: The Midnight Sun is visible from 18 May to 25 July.
