Before ascending into the most impenetrable sections of the valley, the train runs through agricultural landscapes, the old Flåm village centre and the old church. The river follows the railway for large parts of the trip, and you'll pass small farms in incredible locations that seem almost uninhabitable.
The train takes a five-minute photo stop at the Kjosfossen Waterfall, where you can disembark and go out onto the platform. Watch out for the fabled Huldra – a beautiful mythological creature!

In addition to historic architecture, the city also offers modern nightlife areas such as Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen, two areas famous for their lively bar scene.
Flam
Flåm is a village in southwestern Norway, in an area known for its fjords and spectacular beauty. The dramatic Stegastein viewing platform juts out high above the Aurlandsfjord. South of Flåm Harbor, the 17th-century wooden Flåm Church lies in the valley. The Flåm Railway offers valley and waterfall views as it climbs to a station on the Hardangervidda plateau.
Bergen
Bergen is Norway’s second city and the world’s only city surrounded by seven mountains and seven fjords. Bergen is, with good reason, called the Gateway to the Fjords due to its close proximity to the Norwegian fjords. This makes the city the perfect starting point for exploring the fjord region.
