Oslo

If you love the outdoors, exploring Norway’s capital Oslo and all it has to offer is a definite must. With forests and fjords, you are bound to love this city. Oslo offers many attractions, most of them are located within walking distance of each other in Oslo’s compact city centre, while the famous museums on the Bygdøy peninsula area are easy to reach by public transportation. Top attractions in Oslo include the Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park, the Opera House, Holmenkollen Ski Jump and the Viking Ship Museum!

Flåm

Flåm is a village in southwestern Norway, located in an area known for its fjords and spectacular beauty. The dramatic Stegastein viewing platform juts out high above the Aurlandsfjord. South of Flåm Harbor, the 17th-century wooden Flåm Church lies in the valley. The Flåm Railway offers valley and waterfall views as it climbs to a station on the Hardangervidda plateau.

Bergen

Bergen is Norway’s second largest city and the world’s only city surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. Bergen is, with good reason, called the Gateway to the Fjords due to its close proximity to the Norwegian fjords. This makes the city the perfect starting point for exploring the fjord region.

Your Itinerary —

Day 1: Arrival in Oslo
Upon arriving in Oslo, you will take the NSB Train to your hotel in the city centre. There, you will check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. It's recommended to purchase an Oslo Pass locally. These are widely available to purchase locally and are excellent value for museum entrances, restaurant discounts, local bus travel. Overnight in Oslo.

Day 2: Oslo
Following breakfast at your hotel, spend the day at leisure, discovering your amazing destination. Overnight in Oslo.
Day 3: Oslo – Flåm
Following breakfast, you will check-out of your hotel and head to the train station. From there you will depart towards Flåm, with a short break en-route to the mountain stop in Myrdal. Arrive in Flåm and check-in to your hotel before enjoying free time for the rest of the day, discovering this scenic village.

In the evening you will start your New Year's celebratons. At about 7 pm, enjoy Ægir style aperitifs, before indulging in a 3-course dinner on Viking Feast Dinner at Aegir BrewPub. Enjoy Viking inspired food with unique surroundings in our rustic Ægir BrewPub. We use basic ingredients from the Viking Era and tasteful flavours to suite todays taste palate. We serve all courses on big plates and in bowls on the table to share with your family and friends. The dinner includes pork, lamb and fish. Coffee/tea is included.

From here, at about 10 pm, you will take an exclusive Midnight Fjord Cruise on the Future of the Fjords ship, enjoying live entertainment, welcome drink, a fantastic firework display in the peaceful fjords and a drink to see in the new year. Following this, head back to the Ægir BrewPub for an after party! Overnight in Flåm.
Day 4: Flåm
Today is yours at leisure to enjoy the area. Overnight in Flåm.

Day 5: Flåm to Gudvangen, Gudvangen to Voss and from Voss to Bergen
Today you will experience the Nærøyfjord in its full winter glory! The narrow and spectacular Nærøyfjord is surrounded by steep mountains with snow-covered peaks that stretch up to 1800 metres above sea level. Waterfalls cascade down the mountains and picturesque villages dot the landscape. This is an area that is featured on the UNESCO world heritage list and is considered to be one of the world's most beautiful fjord landscapes. Your trip will start in Flåm. Your 2-hour cruise will take you from Flåm to Gudvangen, where you will then take a bus to Voss and an NSB train to Bergen. Upon arrival in Bergen, check-in to your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay. Overnight in Bergen.
Day 6: Bergen
After breakfast, discover Bergen as you stroll through the narrow lanes of ancient Bryggen. Bryggen has become a symbol of Norway's cultural heritage and has gained a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It's recommended to purchase a Bergen Card locally. These are widely available to purchase locally and are excellent value for museum entrances, restaurant discounts, local bus travel. Overnight in Bergen.

Day 7: Departure
Following breakfast, check-out of your hotel and make your wait to the airport via a bus for a departing flight home.

Snowshoe Hike

Experience the beautiful morning light from high above the fjord! The trip begins by minibus along the Aurlandfjord and up to the spectacular viewpoint Stegastein, 650 meters above main sea level. Along the way your local guide will explain about life on the mountain farms as you pass them , and you are sure to see places you would not expect people to be able to live.

On arrival you will be introduced to the art of walking on snowshoes and will hear the history behind them. All while the guide will tell you all about the dramatic nature, winter by the fjord and the special culture in the area. You will have several opportunities to see the fjord far beneath you, the tiny village of Undredal, Flåm and the white mountain tops surrounding the entire fjord. At the turning point you will be served hot beverages and can take in the quiet and unique beauty of the area, the photo opportunities are many. The hike will take about 1-1,5 hours. Before the bus takes you back to Flåm there will be a stop at the viewpoint Stegastein.

Your Optional Excursions
Experience the magic Norwegian winter fjords with us! On this 2,5 hours’ safari you will experience both the Aurlandsfjord and the UNESCO listed Nærøyfjord, surrounded by snow covered peaks and frozen waterfalls. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and listen to stories shared by your personal guide. Our turning point is Styvi, and on the way back we stop in the charming village Undredal. In the small grocery store, we find our local host that will serve something warm to drink and give you a little insight to the life in this small village known for its goat cheese. It is possible to sample and buy local goat cheese while we are in Undredal.
