Day 1 : Otjiwarongo
Day One : Otjiwarongo
Set in central-north Namibia, near Etosha National Park, Otjiwarongo (meaning ‘the place of fat cattle’) is an affluent town with a suburban feel and numerous attractions. The town is known for its excellent conservation projects, hiking, guided nature walks, and safaris. The first night's stay is at Frans Indongo Lodge, a modern retreat where guests can spot Sable Antelope, Black Springbok and Nyala quenching their thirst at the nearby water hole. Your own water hole comes in the form of a beautiful swimming pool with a relaxing sundeck. For something more lively, watch graceful cheetahs sprinting and learn more about the fastest terrestrial animal on the planet at the nearby Cheetah Conservation Fund or explore Waterberg Plateau Park. This 170 km² farm boasts an extraordinary abundance of game, including White and Black Rhino, Black Wildebeest and Hartebeest, which can be viewed on unforgettable sunset drives.

In the vast arid space of Northern Namibia lies one of Southern Africa’s best loved wildlife sanctuaries, Etosha East. The Etosha National Park offers excellent game viewing in one of Africa’s most accessible venues. Zebra and springbok are scattered across the endless horizon, while the many waterholes attract endangered black rhinoceros, lion, elephant and large numbers of antelope. Etosha, meaning ‘place of dry water’, is home to semi-arid savannah grassland, thorn scrub and a large 'pan' which fills just a few days a year to bring thousands of colourful flamingos. Tonight's stay is at Namutoni Camp, where picturesque chalets are the perfect spot for birdwatching.

Days 3 & 4 : Etosha National Park - South
Located just south of the boundary of Etosha National Park in north-western Namibia, Etosha South makes up the southern region of this wild paradise. Visitors can catch a glimpse of a variety of wildlife including: lion, giraffe, elephant, white and black rhino, and a multitude of plains game. Popular activities include game drives, tracking rhinos on foot, guided nature walks, or watching the sunset over this magnificent landscape. Spend the night at Toshari Lodge (Etosha Gateway), nestled on an outcrop of dolomite rocks, under a forest of Mopane and white Seringa trees. A warm welcome awaits you, complimented by a refreshing cold drink on arrival. Absorb the peace and tranquility of the natural African bush as you amble through a blend of manicured lawns and rustic bush gardens to your private room. Nestled in rolling boulders of a granite outcrop, Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp is conveniently situated a ten-minute drive from Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings, within walking distance of the Damara Living Museum and the Huab River Valley. Accommodation at the property consists of furnished en-suite tents with two beds, an open bathroom with a solar heated hot shower, basin and toilet and a shaded terrace with chairs. Guests can also enjoy a scenic nature drive in the ephemeral Huab River and surrounding valley. Germany’s North Sea and Baltic coasts are transplanted onto African soil here in Swakopmund, where the lively African city is filled with palm-lined streets, seaside promenades, decent beaches and a pleasant summer climate. Swakopmund has become the country’s leading adrenaline destination, with a wide range of activities to suit all ages. The area of Namib Desert around Swakopmund, named the West Coast Recreational Area, is perfect for those interested in adventure activities such as sandboarding, quad biking, dune carting, parachuting, hot air ballooning, shark fishing, deep sea fishing and beach angling (to name a few!) For a more relaxed time, there are restaurants, cafes, art galleries, the Swakopmund Museum, a snake park and aquarium. Spend the night here at Hotel Pension Rapmund, a family run establishment with ocean views and a central location.

Sossusvlei is home to the iconic red sand dunes of the Namib. The clear blue skies contrast with the giant red sand dunes to make this one of the natural wonders of Africa and a photographer’s heaven. Enjoy a night at the Elegant Desert Lodge, situated on beautiful farmland. Guests can enjoy typical Namibian food served buffet-style under a thatched roof or on the lawn. Activities include scenic drives, quad biking, and excursions to the Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei, where a tour guide is provided free of charge for groups of 8 people or more. Experience the great orange dunes and rocky mountains from the sky in an optional hot air balloon safari, while a spectacular sunrise glows above the magnificent landscape. The park is home to an impressive array of wildlife, including black wildebeest, springbok, oryx, giraffe, and a large population of meerkats. Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, is located in a basin between the Khomas Highland, Auas and Eros Mountains. The city centre is characterized by a proliferation of German style buildings, a lasting reminder of Namibia's early colonial history. Early buildings such as the1890s Alte Feste, the sandstone Lutheran Christi’s Church, the Tintenpalast and the Parliament Gardens are particularly interesting. Just west, past leafy Zoo Park, the Post Street Mall shopping walkway has a meteorite display. The nearby National Art Gallery of Namibia showcases works by local artists. Northwest is the diverse Katutura suburb, with its markets and local taverns known as shebeens. Spend a night in the Utopia Boutique Hotel, where serene rooms offer luxury and comfort.
